Daedalic has released more info about their upcoming historical roguelike train sim Bounty Train. The latest gameplay elements to come to light are historical events. As players control a steam train on America’s frontier in the late 1800s, historical events will occur that player’s can intervene in, such as the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Amidst managing personnel, modifying engines and wagons, and battling robbers, players can use their influence to alter the course of the Civil War or go into business with the inventor of toilet paper, Joseph Gayetty. Train-themed toilet paper—perfect!

Shooter roguelike Sublevel Zero announced for PC

Mastertronic has sent word that they will be publishing Sigtrap’s shooter Sublevel Zero this summer for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. The first-person, six-degrees-of-freedom shooter will feature procedurally generated levels, crafting, and permadeath. There are also plans to support the Oculus Rift. Ammo will be scarce, necessitating item crafting, and players will have to navigate levels filled with enemies and puzzles. The description of a roguelike Descent seems pretty apt. NIS has released several trailers along with a handful of new screenshots from The Awakened Fate Ultimatum. The new media focuses on the different attack types accessible from the game’s angel-devil skill tree, the story, and two prominent characters, the devil scientist Ariael and angel assistant Jupiel. The upcoming role-playing game follows the adventures of a young boy who is attacked by devils and reawakens in a new realm, after having the powerful Fate Awakening Crystal implanted into his chest by angels. NIS bringing new roguelike to PS3, The Awakened Fate Ultimatum

NIS has revealed another upcoming role-playing game, the story-driven roguelike The Awakened Fate Ultimatum. The PS3 exclusive is slated to hit store shelves and online outlets on March 17. The game takes place several years after a revolution, with devils on the verge of winning their war against the angels. To gain the upper hand, the angels create the Fate Awakening Crystal to turn a human into a God. Players take control of just such a person, who finds himself in Celestia after being attacked by devils. Crystal in his chest, he and his new powers, unlocked through a skill tree filled with abilities used by both factions, are sent to battle the devils in randomly generated dungeons as well as face difficult narrative-driven choices that affect Earth and Celestia.

Darkdeath Evilman is proving as resilient as its namesake with news that its spiritual successor, The Guided Fate Paradox, will be launching later this year for PS3. Developed by the team behind Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, The Guided Fate Paradox will introduce players to Renya Kagurazaka, a high school student who has become a god after winning a mall lottery.
