Resistance: Burning Skies available for PS Vita
The PS Vita library is getting a shot in the arm today with the release of Nihilistic Software’s Resistance: Burning Skies. The first-person shooter is set within the time frame of Resistance 2, during the first Chimeran invasion of the eastern seaboard. As New York firefighter Tom Riley, players will get to experience humanity’s fight along the east coast as Riley searches of his wife and daughter.

PlayStation Vita launch date announced
Sony has announced that the PS Vita, the successor to the PlayStation Portable, will launch on February 22 for $249.99 (Wi-Fi) and $299.99 (3G/Wi-Fi). The system features an OLED front touch screen and rear touch pad, dual analog sticks, motion sensors, and dual cameras. Social network integration will also feature prominently with support for Facebook, foursquare, Skype, and Twitter. Over 100 titles are said to be in development, including new versions of Assassin’s Creed, Resistance, Uncharted series, and WipEout.

Resistance 3 on store shelves, DLC announced
Insomniac Games’ Resistance 3 is now available for the PS3. Set four years after Resistance 2, the third entry into the long-running series features an alternate 1950′s America that is occupied by the Chimera. Joseph Capelli returns from the second release as the last remaining Sentinel who must reverse the Chimar’s terraforming program. As the Earth slowly changes around him, Capelli strikes out in one last attempt to reverse mankind’s fortunes by trekking from his home in Oklahoma to meet up with scientist Dr. Fyodor Malikov in New York.
