Quantum Break now available online, in stores for PC and Xbox One

Remedy’s latest time-shifting action title Quantum Break has hit store shelves, Live Marketplace and Windows store for PC and Xbox One. To celebrate the launch, Remedy will be hosting a livestream on Twitch in a few hours (noon CST) with key members, including creative director Sam Lake, discussing the game from their studio in Finland. As Jack Joyce (Shawn Ashmore), players find themselves in a race to stop a world-shattering event. Mixing gameplay and live-action sequences, players watch their choices play out within the levels and during recorded episodes. As a bonus, every copy of the Xbox One version comes with a download for Alan Wake and its two add-ons.

Quantum Break worldwide launch events detailed

MS has revealed their launch plans for Quantum Break. Several stores are slated to join in on the festivities set to take place on April 5. Eleven Microsoft stores throughout U.S. and Canada will be hosting events on April 4, with each having food, music, and hands-on demos. Additionally, the first 200 to purchase a copy of the game will receive a limited edition poster. For those who can’t attend, Remedy will be hosting a livestream on their Twitch channel. A full list of all participating locations can be found below. Also, Australian players can meet the game’s star and protagonist Shawn Ashmore on April 7 at the MS store on Pitt Street Mall in Sydney. He’ll be on hand to sign items, meet fans, and take part in a question-and-answer session.

Remedy releases new cinematic trailer for Quantum Break

Quantum Break’s release is quickly approaching, and is now less than four weeks away. To properly build up to launch day, Remedy has released a new cinematic trailer. The video offers a quick look at the battle between Jack Joyce and Paul Serene along with his group Monarch Solutions. The clip demonstrates Jack’s ability to manipulate time, which allows him to take down heavily armed soldiers, evade gunfire, and escape combat.

Quantum Break headed to PC, now a pre-order bonus with Alan Wake

Remedy’s upcoming action-adventure title Quantum Break will be available for Windows 10 on April 5. As a bonus, every digital pre-order of the Xbox One version will come with a free download of the PC version. Doubling down on the bonuses, all purchases will come with a digital copy of the studio’s fantastic thriller Alan Wake and its two add-ons, The Signal and The Writer. To enhance the promotional synergy, pre-orders will also get the additional bonus of a download for American Nightmare. All of the Xbox 360 titles will be playable via backwards compatibility. A themed 500GB Cirrus White bundle will also be offered for $349. In the meantime, a new live-action trailer has gone live and is available to watch below.

Microsoft made a number of announcements at this year’s gamescom. A few of which include the reveal of Halo Wars 2 for Xbox One and Windows 10, currently in development at Creative Assembly, Killer Instinct Season 3, and the addition of Shadow Complex to the backwards compatibility preview program. Speaking of which, Microsoft plans to have up to 100 Xbox 360 titles supported by the November launch. Other announcements included console bundles for Fifa 16 and Halo 5: Guardians, DVR for Over-the Air TV functionality for Xbox One (a subscription-free service, allowing for streaming and transferring between devices), two Halo 5 wireless controllers ($69.99 each), and a chatpad ($34.99). In the announcement, Remedy’s creative director, Sam Lake, thanked fans for their patience and noted that “the team is taking advantage of this opportunity to polish and fine tune the game to create the kind of standout entertainment experience they’ve come to expect from us.”
