Alan Wake, American Nightmare, and DLC on Steam for $19.99
There was once a sale, but not just any sale. It was the kind of sale that could invert a person’s mind if they weren’t strong enough to fight off the endless tormenting temptation that hours of digital entertainment can bring to bear on the weary traveler who earns for a break from their mundane life. And SCENE. And with that poor attempt at Wakeness, Remedy has sent word that their psychological action thriller Alan Wake is part of the ongoing Steam sale.

Death Rally making its way back to PC this August
Remedy’s top-down action-racer Death Rally will be making the jump from mobiles to PCs next month. Actually, it’s more of a return because Death Rally was originally released for MS-DOS back in 1996 and later as a freeware Windows port in 2009. The upcoming version has been rebuilt for modern systems, with a new rendering engine offering updated graphics, optimized camera and controls, and a single- and multiplayer-linked career mode. Shadow Man will also make a return from the original version, accompanied by a new track, Savo.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare launches for PC
Remedy’s Alan Wake spinoff, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, is now available for PC. Set in an alternate world based on the fictional Night Springs TV show, Wake finds himself facing off against an evil doppelganger named Mr. Scratch for the life of his wife, Alice. American Nightmare also includes a Horde-style arcade mode, Fight till Dawn, which pits Wake against increasingly difficult waves of enemies that he must hold off until the sun rises. In addition, the PC version features higher resolutions, sharper textures, support for 3D and multiple monitors, and the new Nightmare difficulty mode.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare PC pre-order deals announced
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, the standalone spin-off from series creator Remedy, is set to launch for PC on May 22. In anticipation of its release, both GOG and Steam are running pre-order discount specials of 10% off. Even better, both outlets are offering owners of the original Alan Wake an additional 15% off as well as 50% off the original itself, which comes bundled with all console DLC (only for 72 hours on Steam).

Legacy Interactive to distribute PC retail version of Alan Wake
Nordic Games has handed over the retail reins for the upcoming PC version of Alan Wake to Legacy Interactive. The boxed edition will include the first two DLC releases, The Signal and The Writer, and is set to ship out on April 3.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare finds way to Live Arcade
It’s time to face down The Dark’s latest creation, Wake’s serial-killer doppelganger Mr. Scratch, in Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. The download-only standalone spin-off is now available for 1200 MS Points on Live Arcade. American Nightmare features a single-player storyline inspired by the game’s Twilight Zone-esque Night Springs TV show as well as a new arcade mode. Wake will have to fight for the life of his wife, and his own, against Mr. Scratch, while the Horde-style Fight till Dawn mode will pit him against increasingly difficult waves of enemies.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare launch trailer released
With all the hubbub surrounding the PC release of Alan Wake, the launch of the 360 standalone spin-off, American Nightmare, has (almost) snuck up on us. To remind everyone that Alan is still at war with the dark, this time with a doppelganger going by the name Mr. Scratch, Remedy has released a launch trailer showcasing some of the new dangers. Alan Wake launches on Steam, new diary for American Nightmare
Alan Wake has finally made its way to PC. After years of previews and a year-plus of coverage for the Xbox 360 version, Remedy’s psychological action thriller has launched for PC on Steam. A retail version, from Nordic Games, will be hitting store shelves “shortly.” The download version is $29.99 and features both available DLC packs, The Signal and The Writer, as well as support for multiple monitors and stereoscopic 3D. There are also multiple configurable control schemes and options to both hide the HUD and adjust the field of view.

Alan Wake to make PC debut on Steam later this month
Remedy has announced that they will be launching Alan Wake, their appropriately dubbed psychological action thriller, later this month on Steam. On February 16, PC gamers will get to step into the shoes of one Mr. A. Wake as they make their way through the town of Bright Falls in a quest to find their missing love and unravel a reality-warping mystery. The $29.99 release not only includes the original game but all of the DLC available for the 360 version (a Limited Collector’s Edition will also be available for $34.99). The PC version will support higher resolutions, multiple control schemes, and both AMD Eyefinity 3D 3-screen mode and Nvidia Nvision Sterescopic 3D.
