Sayonara Umihara Kawase update adds support for VR via HTC Vive

Degica has updated Sayonara Umihara Kawase with support for HTC Vive. The free update adds a new point of view, Diorama Mode, to the puzzle-platforming adventure. Sayonara Umihara Kawase is one of three titles included in the Umihara Kawase Trilogy, alongside Umihara Kawase and Umihara Kawase Shun Steam Edition. Each game can also be purchased separately. In a related note, RPG Maker, also from Degica, now has purchasable Umihara Kawase-themed assets.

Capcom has debuted Phoenix Wright’s latest case, Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice, at E3 in a new playable demo. Attendees can try the game for themselves at Capcom’s booth (South Hall, #2023). For everyone else, a new batch of screenshots has been released from the trial of the, er, trial. Capcom-Unity will be livestreaming the game today at 4:00 p.m. (CST) and tomorrow at 1 p.m. (CST) with members of the development team at their Twitch channel.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach, Go revealed with screens, trailers

The Deus Ex Universe is expanding by two new titles, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach and Deus Ex Go. Breach is a new mode that will be in Mankind Divided that will offer an arcade-style mini-game where players take on the role of a Ripper. As a digital thief, players must break into servers to steal classified corporate info to sell for cash and experience. It will also be a live mode with new challenges and features being added after release. Deus Ex Go is a turn-based puzzle game for phones and tablets that centers on infiltration. As Adam Jensen, players will hack, fight, and use augments to solve puzzles of the Go series to learn more about a terrorist plot. Trailers and screens for both have been posted below, along with some new shots from the recently streamed Mankind Divided demo.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 ventures forth, now available for Wii U

King Art Games’ point-and-click adventure title The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 has launched for Wii U. As with its 2011 predecessor, the sequel follows several heroes as they undertake a quest rife with referential humor. The four heroes must solve a series of logic puzzles in order to put an end to the random transformations that are taking place throughout the lands of Aventasia in a journey that’s estimated to last over 20 hours.

Degica will be releasing Dream Holdings and Takagism’s Crimson Room Decade next week. Set a decade after the original, Inspector Jean-Jacques Gordot finds himself stuck in the Crimson Room that he was investigating. Players will have to combine items, solve puzzles, and collect diary entries to figure out the purpose of the room and how he can escape before time runs out.

Phoenix Wright will be returning to the 3DS this summer for a new trial in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice. Wright will be joined by Apollo Justice and friends old and new, including Rayfa, the Royal Priestess of the Kingdom of Khura’in. While Apollo holds the fort down at the agency, Wright tackles a trial in Khura’in, a land whose court system relies on séances rather than lawyers. He’ll have plenty to do, from investigating witnesses, checking the crime scenes for evidence via the touch screen, and taking advantage of Divination Séances himself to see the deceased’s last moments.

Sega 3D Classics Collection now available in stores, on eShop for 3DS

Sega! has unloaded a bundle of some of their golden oldies on 3DS today with Sega 3D Classics Collection. The nine-game compilation includes two titles that are making their North American debut, including Power Drift and Puyo Puyo 2, with the former being a Yu Suzuki-created kart racer and the latter an addictive puzzler with a versus mode. The remaining seven, all detailed below, include Altered Beast, Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa, Fantasy Zone II W – Fantasy Zone II W, Galaxy Force II, Maze Walker, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Thunder Blade. Several of these have been available on eShop for quite a while, but this is the first time all are being sold in physical form for the system. To get additional insight into the porting process, check out the latest interview conducted by Sega with developer M2.

Sega has announced a retro-themed pre-order bonus for Sega 3D Classics Collection. Early buyers will receive a nine-sticker decal sheet when they pick up the compilation. The set of silver-hued stickers will include a Master System logo and console, a Mega Drive logo, a Genesis logo and console, a 16-Bit logo, a GigaDrive logo, a Professor Asobin, and of course, a Sega logo.

Degica has brought the physics-based puzzle-platformer Umihara Kawase Trilogy back to Steam. The game was pulled after its original publisher closed their doors, but now it’s back on the service. The bundle includes Umihara Kawase, Umihara Kawase Shun Steam Edition, and Sayonara Umihara Kawase. As Umihara Kawase, players must use a fishing hook to sling themselves around obstacle-and enemy-filled stages. The Steam version features achievements, trading cards, leaderboards, cloud saving, and controller support for all three titles.
