Wolfenstein: The Old Blood standalone digital prequel coming in May

Wolfenstein: The New Order is getting a standalone, digital prequel later this year from MachineGames. Scheduled to launch May 5, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will take players back to 1946 as B.J. Blazkowicz attempts to halt the Nazi’s progress in a two-part mission set within Bavaria. The first part, Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves, tasks players with breaking into Castle Wolfenstein, while the second, The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs, sees them fighting a Nazi archaeologist meddling in dark forces within the city of Wulfburg. Lords of the Fallen’s first downloadable content add-on, Ancient Labyrinth, is now available on PSN, Live, and Steam. The $7.99 expansion adds new enemies, armor, and shields, as well as a new storyline that follows the criminal Harkyn in his quest of redemption. He must defeat demons residing in an abandoned library situated in a nether realm, the Ancient Labyrinth, which will need to be explored and its guard The Keeper defeated several times for everything to be found.

La-Mulana EX has gone live on PSN for PS Vita. The side-scrolling action platformer from Pygmy Studio once again calls the intrepid adventurer Professor Lemeza Kosugiembark to the dangerous ruins of La-Mulana. Players must help the whip-wielding explorer as he searches for lost treasure, battles monsters, and explores uncharted territory. The PS Vita version features a new bestiary and the option to undo the Hard Mode curse.

New Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin video debuts Forlorn NPC

A new gameplay trailer has gone live for Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. The latest footage showcases the new NPC invader, the Forlorn. The video runs a little over three minutes and shows what players have come to expect from Dark Souls II: pain. Beset by regular enemies, a player desperately tries to get the upper hand as the Forlorn closes in and proceeds to harass them throughout the encounter.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 – Episode 1 now on PSN, Feb. 25 on Live

Capcom has released the first episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 on PSN for PS3 and PS4. Episode 1 will launch tomorrow on Xbox Live for Xbox 360 and Xbox One and on Steam for PC. The sequel begins with Claire Redfield, now an agent for the anti-bioterrorism group Terra Save, working alongside Moira Burton, Barry Burton’s daughter, to escape the clutches of kidnappers. In search of the two, Barry encounters Natalia Korda, a young girl with the power to sense enemies, whom he recruits to find Moira. Players must switch between the pairs in order to avoid enemies and find their way off a deadly island.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin patch, media released

Bandai Namco has released a new trailer, the box art, and 10 new screenshots for Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. A new patch has also gone live, which adds the new non-playable character The Scholar, who offers additional insight into the story, plus improvements to online matchmaking, expanded item descriptions, the Agape Ring, and other adjustments and changes to solo as well as online play.

NIS has released several trailers along with a handful of new screenshots from The Awakened Fate Ultimatum. The new media focuses on the different attack types accessible from the game’s angel-devil skill tree, the story, and two prominent characters, the devil scientist Ariael and angel assistant Jupiel. The upcoming role-playing game follows the adventures of a young boy who is attacked by devils and reawakens in a new realm, after having the powerful Fate Awakening Crystal implanted into his chest by angels. Players must help him make his way between the warring factions.

Sega bringing 2D fighter Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax stateside

Sega has announced that they are partnering with developers Ecole and French Bread (the studio behind Aksys’ upcoming fighter Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late) for a Western release of Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax. The 2D crossover fighter will feature characters from several Dengeki Bunko titles, some of Sega’s own characters, and Sega-themed environments. The title will be released for the PS3 and PS Vita later this year.

PSN adding PS Music, PS Video, and support for Spotify

Sony has announced that they will consolidate several of their multimedia services into PSN. Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited will both be added to PSN and renamed PS Music and PS Video, respectively. Music Unlimited will shut down in all countries on March 29, while Spotify will be added to PS Music this spring. As a result of today’s news, PlayStation Network will soon consist of PS Music, PS Now, PS Plus, PS Store, PS Video, and PS Vue.
