The official trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Awakening: Der Eisendrache has gone live. The first downloadable chapter in the latest Zombies mode adds Origin characters Dempsey, Nicolai, Richtofen, and Takeo. The group must explore a medieval castle that’s been built on a deposit of Element 115, and survive the ensuing onslaught of monsters. Awakening will be released first for PS4 on February 2.

Umbrella Corps launching his May, new screens, trailer released

Umbrella Corps, the upcoming Resident Evil-themed arena shooter, will be hitting digital outlets this May for PC and PS4. In addition to a multiplayer component, there will also be a single-player campaign, The Experiment. Solo play will consist of over 20 multi-objective missions, tasking the player with battling through a “coliseum style horde-like mode” without the Zombie Jammer device found in multiplayer. Arenas will be based after areas found in Resident Evil 4 and 5, including the remote village from the fourth, and host numerous familiar enemies, such as the Ganados and Cerberus dogs. A new trailer was released alongside a handful of screenshots, all of which have been posted below.

Street Fighter V to get free cinematic story expansion this June

Capcom revealed new story details for Street Fighter V. Set between Street Fighters III and IV, the fifth entry will feature character stories that set the stage for a free cinematic story expansion that is scheduled to be released in June. Their stories will feature art by Bengus, who has a lengthy history with Capcom, having worked on such titles as Street Fighter Alpha, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and the original Street Fighter. A new trailer and screenshots were released for the upcoming expansion, check them out below. Also for those who have been playing online, a bonus, final beta test has been scheduled for January 30-31.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered coming digitally, physically to PS4

Sega is following up their PC re-release of the PS3 tactical role-playing game Valkyria Chronicles with a new Remastered version for PS4. Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is set to launch digitally and physically this spring for $29.99, and as a bonus for early buyers, first-run and pre-order copies will come with a Squad 7 Armored Case that features the main characters. In addition to the main campaign, which tasks players with leading Gallia’s Squad 7 against the invading forces of the Empire, the game will also include all downloadable content. The DLC will add Hard EX Mode, Challenge of the Edy Detachment, and missions for Edy and Selvaria. The game will also feature support for 1080p at 60fps, dual audio tracks, and trophies.

Bethesda is offering a first look at the upcoming DLC pack Thieves Guild for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. The add-on will allow players to join the guild for the first time, who focus on stealing, robbing, and pickpocketing their way to fortune and glory. Players will be able to steal from the shadows and sneak along roofs as they recover lost treasure, explore a new zone, tackle new story content, and take part in a new 12-player trial. Pricing and other details will be released in the upcoming weeks.

New Far Cry Primal gameplay, behind-the-scenes videos out

A new trailer has gone live for Far Cry Primal. Titled Takkar, the video introduces the hunter Takkar, who arrives in Orosto to help the Wenja face off against other tribes as well as fend off attacks from deadly animals. The footage features some impressive environments and a few scenes of combat. In addition, Ubisoft also released a new entry in their Behind the Scenes video series, plus a few pieces of artwork. Layers of Fear launching in full next month, announced for PS4

Bloober Team’s horror-tinged adventure title Layers of Fear will be exiting Early Access and launching in full for PC next month. A new trailer was also released to coincide with the reveal that the game will also be available for PS4. Atlus has revealed the art print that will be included with the Storybook Edition of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir. The print will feature Alice along with her cat Socrates and measure 7.25”x10”. The remaining goodies will include a 64-page hardcover art book, a ‘potion recipe’ T-shirt, and an outer box to store everything. The Storybook version is limited to PS4.

Life is Strange gets physical, now on store shelves for console, PC

Dontnod’s episodic adventure title Life is Strange is now available in physical form for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. As high school senior (and resident time manipulator) Max Caulfield, players team up with friend Chloe Price to investigate the disappearance of another student in Arcadia Bay. Two versions are on offer, with the standard edition featuring all five episodes, and a Limited Edition, which also includes a 32-page art book, a music CD with 14 licensed tracks and 8 tracks from the game’s composer, and a directors’ commentary.
