505 Games will be releasing a new version of Payday 2. Set to go live for download on June 16, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition will feature an improved frame rate, textures, and resolution. In addition to all of the available download packs and content updates, Crimewave Edition will also include new characters, contracts, enemies, heists, jobs, and masks. Plus a new perk system, pre-planning stage, and stealth-based fifth skill tree. A pre-order bonus, Hard Time Loot Bag, is also up for grabs and is detailed below.

Ace Team’s action platformer Abyss Odyssey will be getting a release for PS4. Abyss Odyssey: Extended Dream Edition will contain tweaks and updates to the original game, which follows Katrien, Ghost Monk, and Pincoya on a quest to defeat a powerful warlock at the bottom of a sprawling abyss. In addition to the updates for the PC version, Extended Dream Edition will feature online two-player co-op, local four-player versus, and a mini-boss battle with Zeno Clash’s Goldem. There are also several system-exclusive mini-bosses, Tirana and White Phantom, as well as a unique final boss form, Warlock Titan.

Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited trailer highlights choice

Bethesda has released a new video for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Titled Freedom and Choice in Tamriel, the footage focuses on the extensive options available to players, such as the classes and races they can choose from to the playstyles made possible by the extensive amount of ability specialization options. Tamriel Unlimited includes all of the content from the original ESO, plus all subsequent patches and content updates, but without the subscription fee.

Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves co-op event to debut on Twitch

Bungie is set to stream more of Destiny’s second expansion, House of Wolves, tomorrow. Kicking off at 1 p.m. (CST) community manager Deej will once again be hosting a livestream playthrough, this time of a new Horde-style co-op arena activity set in the Prison of Elders, where three players must defend against waves of enemies. Other guests will include lead designer Matt Sammons and player ProfessorBroman. To check out the event, head to their Twitch channel.

A new video for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt showcases some of the monsters that famed hunter Geralt of Rivia will come up against. Dragon Age: Inquisition gets free DLC with dragons, characters, kit

Dragon Age: Inquisition received two new free downloads, the Dragonslayer Multiplayer Expansion and The Black Emporium. Dragonslayer adds new maps, three new characters (an Avvar Skywatcher, a Virtuoso, and the Raider Queen of the Eastern Seas, Isabela), and dragon battles to multiplayer. Black Emplorium adds four high-level stores to access strong weapons, accessories, crafting materials, and schematics. The latter also adds the Mirror of Transformation to the war table, offering players the chance to alter their character’s facial appearance.

Blazkowicz returns, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood out for console, PC

The new standalone prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Old Blood, has launched on Live, PSN, and Steam. The $19.99 download takes B.J. Blazkowicz through eight chapters that span two interconnected storylines set in 1946. The first part, Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves, finds him behind enemy lines in Bavaria, undertaking a two-part mission to break into Castle Wolfenstein and steal intel to find General Deathshead’s compound. The second part, The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs, takes place further along on his search, after he stumbles upon a city where strange artifacts have recently been uncovered.

(Ch-ch-ch) Jason Bundle out May 5 for Mortal Kombat X Kombo Pack

The Jason Voorhees Bundle will launch for Mortal Kombat X tomorrow for Kombat Pack owners and on May 12 for everyone else. The $7.99 set includes two different download packs, Jason Vorhees character DLC ($4.99) and the Horror Pack ($3.99). The Horror Pack adds horror-themed skins for several characters, including Kraken Reptile, Pharaoh Ermac, and Vampiress Mileena. A new trailer shows the Friday the 13th star in action.

A new shooter has launched for PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One, courtesy of OPQAM and Reverb Triple XP. Project Root, “a modern remake of the shoot ‘em up action genre,” follows rebel ace Lance Rockport in his eight-stage battle against the Prometheus Corporation. Along the way, players will also be able to upgrade their craft, the F-72 Zonda fighter.
