Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare goes ’80s in Zombies in Spaceland

Infinity Ward has revealed a new Zombies entry for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Zombies in Spaceland. The co-op-centric mode is set in a space-themed amusement park during the 1980s. Continuing series tradition, the story will follow four characters voiced by several actors and comedians: David Hasselhoff, Ike Barinholtz, Jay Pharoah, Paul Reubens, and Sasheer Zamata. Four actors are invited to an audition by director Willard Wyler, played by Paul Reubens, but find themselves transformed into an archetype (jock, nerd, rapper, and valley girl) and stuck in one of his movies. Helping them along the way is a mysterious DJ, played by David Hasselhoff. Jay Pharoah is slated to host a Zombies in Spaceland stream tomorrow, starting at 11:00 a.m. (CST), on the Call of Duty Twitch channel and Youtube channel. The mode will also be playable at this year’s Call of Duty XP.

Everspace to enter early access for PC, Xbox One on September 14

Rockfish Games is planning on releasing their roguelike space-based shooter Everspace on Steam Early Access, GOG’s Games in Development, and Preview Program for Xbox One and PC on September 14. The Kickstarter-backed titled raised over $750,000, and will be the first title on Xbox Preview Program on Windows 10, supporting both cross-save and cross-buy. The early version will feature six sectors, with a final sector, two additional unique player ships, and different starting gear slated to be added later this year. Arcade-style strategy shooter Inversus launches for PC, PS4

Inversus, the latest action title from Hypersect designer and programmer Ryan Juckett, is now available on PSN, Humble Store, and Steam. The competitive arcade-style title mixes strategy with shooting, as players fire bullets to open and close paths in an attempt to block and trap their opponent. Up to four players are supported, locally or online, in one-versus-one and two-versus-two modes over 30-plus maps. PSN and Steam are both running a launch-week discount, knocking 10% off, with the former for PS Plus subscribers.

Epic Games’ MOBA Paragon enters open beta for PC, PS4

Epic has kicked off the open beta for its free-to-play console and PC MOBA Paragon. The five-versus-five, third-person action title features an increasing roster of Heroes, with one slated to be added every three weeks, and crossplay between PC and PS4. The game is said to be designed for players to “win without ever spending money,” with cards only accessible by playing. The studio is currently holding a livestream event on their Twitch channel and Youtube channel to discuss game design, demonstrate gameplay, and offer a look at what they have planned for updates.

Destiny – The Collection, digital legacy upgrade promo announced

As Bungie preps the next add-on for Destiny, Rise of Iron, the studio is also planning on releasing an all-in-one package, Destiny – The Collection. Scheduled to launch on September 20, alongside Rise of Iron, the bundle will include Expansion I & II, The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, and Rise of Iron. Players who pre-order Collection digitally will be able to immediately download the game and all available expansions. Digital and physical pre-orders will also receive the black and silver Iron Gjallarhorn rocket launcher. For those who own The Taken King digitally on a legacy console, from now until January 31, Bungie is offering a $40 upgrade path in the same console family.

Slavers, raiders, and rides in Fallout 4 – Nuka-World gameplay trailer

Fallout 4’s final add-on, Nuka-World, received its first gameplay trailer today. The footage offers an overview of the sixth expansion’s additions and setting, a dilapidated amusement park that doubles as a base for Raiders. The makeshift city has several themed areas, including Safari Adventure, Kiddie Kingdom, and Galactic Zone. Players can use the park as their own base to lead Raiders on missions to conquer surrounding settlements. Also featured are some of the new creatures, enemies, and weapons.

Fighting fans looking forward to The King of Fighters XIV are getting a close-up look at the premium ‘Burn to Fight’ edition in a new unboxing video. The standard version’s first-run steelbook release is displayed, but the meat of the video is a better look at the extras that come in the big-box bundle: a 144-page, series-spanning art book, a three-disc soundtrack set that includes 60-plus songs, and an oversized themed box.

A new trailer has been released for Batman: Arkham VR. The latest footage gives players a quick look at how others react to experiencing life as Batman and Bruce Wayne. Spliced in-between clips of thumbs-up and praise are the first glimpses of the Batcave, Wayne Manor, and the interface, complete with floating hand.

Final Fantasy XV release bumped back from September to November

Square Enix has pushed back the release of Final Fantasy XV to November 29. The extra time will be used to “allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams.” A video from the game’s director, Hajime Tabata, has been released and posted below, which was made available alongside a statement. In part, he comments that he wishes “to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want Final Fantasy XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding.” Additionally, the physical versions of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy’s and Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV’s release dates might change, while the digital release of Kingsglaive remains August 30.

Nordic Games now THQ Nordic, several THQ projects in the works

After eight years, Nordic Games has decided to take full advantage of their 2013 asset acquisition of THQ and reincorporate themselves as THQ Nordic. The change comes as the company looks to enter their next phase and fully embrace their IPs, as they seek to “align them with the very best development resources to expand upon them with the level of experience that communities and established fan bases expect and deserve.” The studio currently has 23 ongoing projects, 13 of which have not been revealed publicly. According to the release, the majority of those that haven’t been announced are based on THQ properties. It seems as though Darksiders II will be getting plenty of company.
