Aksys, Arc add $30,000 to BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Evo 2014 pot

Developer Arc System Works and publisher Aksys Games have decided to up the ante for Evo 2014 with $30,000 for the BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma pot. The top U.S. player at the tournament will also be flown with a friend to Japan on Aksys’ dime so that both can compete in Arc Revolution Cup 2014 on August 30. Series creator Toshimichi Mori and Rachel Alucard’s voice actress Kana Ueda will also be on hand at Aksys’ booth to sign free posters, as will stations to practice Chrono Phantasma, try a playable demo of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-, and check out BlazBlue Battle Cards and Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!!.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain E3 demo footage released

Update! The livestream of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s E3 theater demo from Kojima Productions’ Twitch Channel that was previously here has been replaced with a Youtube video. Invasion hitting PC, PS3 versions of Call of Duty: Ghosts next month

Call of Duty: Ghosts – Invasion, the game’s third DLC pack, is scheduled to launch on July 3 for PC and PS3. Abyss Odyssey launching online this July for console and PC

Ace Team’s 2D side-scrolling action title Abyss Odyssey will be available online on July 15 for PC and PS3, and on the following day for 360. Atlus also announced that the official website has gone live at AbyssOdyssey.com, and that they are running a pre-order program for the PC version through Steam offering 33% off the suggested price of $14.99.

As Battle Princess Plume, players must save the Kingdom of Schwert by destroying waves of invading monsters. The princess is capable of recruiting soldiers, upgrading her skills, and building a varied arsenal that includes axes, swords, spears, and even guns.

Drakengard 3 gets final batch of DLC, contest announced

The last round of downloadable content has launched for Drakengard 3. Over six weapon and outfit packs as well as a prologue and a theme pack are now available on PSN, and each is detailed below. Several of the packs were pre-order bonuses or are from the Collector’s Edition, including three alternate color schemes for Zero, an outfit based off of Caim’s from Nier, a costume based from Nier’s outfit in the Japan-only Nier Replicant, and even a Giant Baby head for Mikhail styled after the bizarre creatures in the first Drakengard. One’s Prologue, formerly a CE exclusive, is also available, which helps to flesh out backstory behind all the bloody mayhem.

E3 2014: Activision – Destiny screenshots, trailer released

Activision has released some new screenshots alongside a new trailer for Bungie’s upcoming shooter Destiny. The seven-minute-long video features Bungie co-founder Jason Jones detailing more about what gamers can expect from both single player and multiplayer. Topics covered, and shown in the screenshots, include the campaign, character-customization options, classes, skills, and wheeling and dealing in the hub city. Of particular interest is The Director, which alerts players as to what quests are available and their associated rewards. Gamers itching to give the game a go can take part in an upcoming public beta, set to kick off on July 17.

E3 2014: Square Enix – Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider, Hitman

Final Fantasy Type-0 (PS4, Xbox One)

Square Enix has announced a number of new entries across several series, including Final Fantasy, Hitman, and Tomb Raider. One of the biggest surprises is that Final Fantasy Type-0 and Final Fantasy Agito are both coming to North America. Type-0 was released for PSP in Japan in 2011 and will be brought over as an HD remastered release for PS4 and Xbox One. Agito is a free Android and iOS title (supported with in-app purchases) that features characters from Type-0 and allows players to make changes that affect others within the in-game community. As a cadet in the Dominion of Rubrum, players attempt to become Agito, the savior of Orience, and will have access to a variety of character-customization options, crafting options, and missions that feature large-scale co-op battles involving the entire community. No release dates were announced for either title.

E3 2014: Sony – White PS4 Destiny bundle, PS TV, PS Now, more

Sony has announced that they will be expanding the PlayStation 4 line with a Destiny bundle that comes with a new Glacier White model. The pack will launch this fall and come with the system, a 30-day membership to PS Plus, and a copy of Destiny for $449. Alongside the model, Sony will also be releasing white peripherals, including a Dual Shock 4 and vertical stand. Several features were also announced, including greater Youtube integration, which will allow users to share, view, and upload videos. Another feature will allow PS3 and PS4 owners to invite PSN friends to join multiplayer sessions in titles they don’t own, with support announced for Far Cry 4.
