See Castellano’s deadly, shifting world in new The Evil Within trailer

Bethesda has released another survival-themed trailer for The Evil Within. The latest video, World Within, details the monster-infested nether realm that players will find themselves in as Detective Castellanos. Shifting environments, puzzles, stealth, and side paths are all covered in the nearly three and a half minute video. The upcoming survival-horror title from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and studio Tango Gameworks is scheduled to launch next week, so be sure to catch up on the latest gruesomely informative videos here and here.

Free digital upgrade plan revealed for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Activision has announced a free upgrade plan for the digital versions of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Gamers who pick up the current-gen versions through Live for 360 or PSN for PS3 by March 31 will be able to download their next-gen equivalent for Xbox One or PS4 at no additional cost. All multiplayer stats and DLC purchases, including the Season Pass, will also carry over to the new versions for free, as long as the Xbox Gamertag and PSN ID are the same. Note that physical copies aren’t eligible for the free upgrade.

We’ve got movement! Alien: Isolation released for console, PC

Sega has released Creative Assembly’s new survival-thriller Alien: Isolation. In this latest take on the popular franchise, players will find themselves on a decommissioned trading station on the outskirts of space, trying to avoid being impaled, sliced, burned, or otherwise mutilated by a Xenomorph that has found its way on board. Unlike previous Aliens titles, players will have to make do with limited resources by sticking to the shadows and gathering whatever they can to survive the hunt.

Traps, crossbows, and more in new The Evil Within trailer

The Evil Within, Tango Gameworks’ upcoming survival-horror title, is due out next week, and Bethesda has released a new gameplay video. The trailer, Fight for Life, runs around three and a half minutes long and features more blood-splattered walls, monsters, and combat, but the focus this time is on traps. Traps can not only be used to lure enemies to their (final) death but also to construct new weapons, with the footage demonstrating a powerful mechanical crossbow. It’s one of the more action-packed videos to come out, plus it has an extended sequence with Pyramid Head’s long-lost brother, The Keeper.

Dying Light trailer showcases Be the Zombie pre-order DLC

Techland has released a new trailer to show off its asymmetric multiplayer mode, Be the Zombie, in their upcoming open-world, zombie-themed action title Dying Light. The new video, Be the Zombie, gives an idea as what players can expect when their multiplayer game is invaded by another player in the form of a Night Hunter zombie. Invasions will take part in all versions of the game, but to be the Night Hunter and invade other worlds, players will have to pre-order the game to access the Be the Zombie mode.

Last Team Standing update now live for Grand Theft Auto Online

Rockstar has released another substantial update for GTA Online, Last Steam Standing. The download adds two new weapons, a heavy shotgun and marksman rifle; 30-plus themed clothing items; vehicles, including a sport bike and chopper; Creator features, and numerous gameplay tweaks, such mini-map icons indicating when players are in vehicles. Ten new Last Team Standing Jobs have also been added, scattered across Blaine County and Los Santos. The update now allows for a Forced Weapon setting to be engage, and for creators to add rounds to Captures and Last Team Standing Jobs as well as to Rockstar-created Last Team Standing, Captures, and Versus missions. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax now in stores, online for 360 and PS3

The Persona 3 and 4 crews are once again coming to blows with their evil doppelgangers today with the release of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. The Arc System Works co-developed fighter takes place shortly after the events in Persona 4 Arena, but now even more characters are getting involved. For those who have the original, Atlus notes that all DLC purchased for Area should transfer over to Ultimax. It was also noted that, while the game does support region-free netplay, it does not support cross-platform play. Downloadable characters Adachu and Marie are also available today, and as a launch bonus, they are free to download for the next week.

Atlus has revealed the pricing for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’s upcoming downloadable content packs as well as released a new unboxing video. A new addition is the Velvet Room’s ever-fashionable Margaret, who will be released on October 7 for $4.99. That also happens to be the day when Adachi and Marie will transition from free to for-pay DLC, each also for $4.99. Other packs include the complete Persona 4 Arena Story for $9.99, Glasses Packs and Additional Color Packs for $1.99 each or as a $5.99 sets, and Navigator Voices at $2.99 apiece. At launch, Adachi, Aigis, Mitsuru, Nanako, Teddie, and Yosuke will all have voice packs available; all other voice packs will launch on October 7.
