The standard edition of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- has hit store shelves and launched online for PS3 and PS4. As a reminder, the limited edition will not be available until December 23, due to delays caused at strikes at the Port of Long Beach and Port of Los Angeles. For those picking the game up within the launch window, Aksys is throwing in a free $7.99 DLC character, Elphelt, from now until January 5. And on the topic of downloadable content, a full release schedule has been provided and is posted below.

Alien: Isolation update adds Nightmare and Novice difficulty models

A new update has been released for Alien: Isolation that adds two additional difficulty models, Nightmare and Novice. Novice adds additional resources and ammunition, weakens the strength of androids and survivors, and makes distracting a less-aggressive Alien easier in certain portions of the game. On the other end of the spectrum is Nightmare, which limits resources, increases the strength of androids and survivors, upgrades the Alien AI, and starts the player off with a broken tracker that has a distorted display. The update is available for all versions.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- Limited Edition release rescheduled for Dec. 23

After announcing a short delay, Aksys Games has nailed down a new release date for the limited edition version of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-. As before, the standard edition will be launching on December 16, but the limited edition will now be hitting store shelves on December 23. The delay is a result of strikes at the Port of Long Beach and Los Angeles, which has held up the shipment of some of the items included in the premium set.

Metal Gear Online gameplay trailer, screenshots released

Konami has debuted gameplay from Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer component from the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The four-minute-long trailer was revealed at The Game Awards 2014. According to the announcement accompanying the video, Online will be available for free and transition into elements of the single-player mode. The game will feature graphical and mechanical updates in line with The Phantom Pain’s additions, a class-based system, and appearances by prominent characters, including Ocelot and Venom Snake.

PlayStation Experience 2014 Highlights – Suikoden II, Street Fighter V

Some big news came out today from Sony’s PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas. The biggest of which is arguably the reveal and announcement of console exclusivity of Street Fighter V. Sony and Capcom have partnered up to release it for PS4, and to make it cross-platform compatible with PC. To keep gamers occupied until then, Capcom is also releasing Ultra Street Fighter IV for PS4. Another surprise came out of Konami, who announced that the highly acclaimed Suikoden I and II will be available on PSN for PS3 and PS Vita next week, on December 9. Sega wasn’t to be outdone, however, with the reveal that Yakuza 5 will be a downloadable release for PS3 in 2015, nor Atlus, who gave Persona fans more to look forward to in 2015 the news that Persona 5 will be available for PS3 and PS4.

New King’s Quest gameplay trailer debuted at The Game Awards 2014

Sierra has released the first gameplay trailer from The Odd Gentlemen’s King’s Quest. The studio revealed the trailer at this year’s The Game Awards, which coincided with series creator Roberta Williams winning the Industry Icon Award alongside Sierra co-founder Ken Williams. The upcoming reimagining adds new chapters to the original games but are independent of them while keeping the same main characters and storylines from the earlier entries.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare to get Exo Zombies mode in 2015

Aksys has released a demo of Arc System Works’ latest fighter, Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-, for PS3 and PS4. The only hitch is that it’s currently only available for PS Plus members, at least from now until December 8. The demo features two playable characters, Ky Kiske and Sol Badguy, as well as access to Tutorial Mode and the prologue via Arcade Mode.
