Falcom’s Ys series is returning next month, and today, NIS has revealed that they will be releasing downloadable supplies for famed adventurer Adol Christin. Announced alongside a trailer, available below, the three packs will be released for all versions and add the original armor from Ys (Silver Armor), informal gear (Adventurer Clothes), and accessories along with iron ore (Survival Kit). The drops will be free for the first week after launch. Tacked onto the release was word that PS4 pre-orders will receive a system theme alongside seven character avatars as well as a five-song digital soundtrack.
Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth’s September release is right around the corner, so to get players properly pumped, Atlus has released several PS4 and PS Vita themes for the series. PSN now hosts four, two for each system, based on the game’s predecessor, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception. Available for $2.99 each, they feature original cast (and spoiler-free) members, Haku, Kuon, priestesses Uruuru and Saraana, and Nekone.
It’s time to learn about the characters set to star in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. The first cast reveal, Ultimate Roll Call #1, has been released by NIS. The video spotlights Ultimate Tennis Pro Ryoma Hoshi, Ultimate Astronaut Kaito Momota, Ultimate Magician Himiko Yumeno, Ultimate Artist Angie Yonaga, and Monodam. Three more Ultimate- and Monokub-filled videos are left.
YummyYummyTummy’s debut PlayStation title, Fallen Legion: Sins of an Empire, has gone live for PS4, while its sister title, Flames of Rebellion, has also launched for PS Vita. The two platforms host different games that share one storyline, with PS4 owners siding with Princess Cecille’s loyalists and PS Vita players throwing in their lot with General Legatus Laendur’s rebels. Both titles can be purchased separately for $19.99 each. Each allows players to control up to four characters simultaneously, utilizing counters and combos during combat, while directing the evolution of their empire by making decisions that alter the storyline.
Atlus has released new details about Mask of Deception’s upcoming sequel, Mask of Truth. Numerous reviews, including our own, mentioned that hours could pass between battles, but it seems that is about to change. The release starts off noting that “first, there’s going to be a lot of more battles,” since the events leading up to the follow-up have kicked off a war as factions attempt to join or resist the Yamato Empire. The increase in combat also means an expanded battle system. The characters, now veterans, will have a higher level cap, extended action chains, and two new moves, co-op final and co-op chain attacks. Two new modes are also being added, training and trials, for additional avenues of gaining experience.
NIS has sent word that have announced two new games as well as updated the release dates for two others. First up is the dungeon-crawler Demon Gaze II, which has been scheduled to launch this fall for PS4 and PS Vita. Next up is Penny-Punching Princess, an isometric brawler for NS and PS Vita, set to be released on March 20. The Longest Five Minutes, a retro-style role-playing game, will go live in early 2018 for NS, PC, and PS Vita. Lastly, Yomawari: Midnight Shadows has been dated for October 25 for PC, PS4, and PS Vita. Trailers for all of the games can be found below.
Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle will be delayed, according to NIS. The upcoming shooter-fighter hybrid, originally scheduled to be released on July 4, is now set to launch on October 10. The release date holds for all consoles, NS, PS4, and PS Vita. The delay is said to allow for the accommodation of the game’s production and manufacturing.
The Valkyria series receives its fourth entry today with the launch of Valkyria Revolution. The spin-off shares some similarities with the original trilogy but is entirely separate from them, taking place in a different universe and timeline. The combat has changed, too, from being turn based and tactical to more free wheeling, similar to systems found in action role-playing games. As leader of the Vanargand Squad, an elite anti-Valkyria unit, players set forth to defeat the Ruzi Empire in order to end a devastating blockade that is slowly strangling the kingdom of Jutland. Their squad will fight throughout Europa using swords, guns, and ragnite-fueled powers.
Another music-centric video has been released for Valkyria Revolution. The previous footage featured composer Mitsuda-san, while the latest finds him joined by vocalist Sarah Alainn. The two play and discuss the track “Eternal Rest.” Additionally, a free theme for PS4 and PS Vita has gone live, as has a massive list of upcoming downloadable content. The video and DLC schedule can be found below.
