Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, the MMORPG-styled adaptation of the manga and anime series of the same name, has launched on PSN for PS Vita. Players can start on Floor 76 of Aincrad and fight to free themselves in Hollow Fragment or from the beginning with an HD version of the game’s predecessor, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment. Players can also team up with up to three other adventurers via ad-hoc multiplayer. A free downloadable costume pack launched today as well and will be available through November 18. Buyers can also look forward to a downloadable content pack slated to hit PSN next month.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment to get content update, free DLC

Bandai Namco has announced a free DLC Costume Pack for their upcoming MMO-styled role-playing game Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment. The promotion is slated to run from launch until November 18 and will net gamers a dress shirt, nightie, school swimsuit, and wedding dress. These items will not be available in any other pack after the promotion ends. An extensive content update was also detailed, which will go live on September 23 and introduce a host of (free) changes, including a higher level cap, from 200 to 250, new bosses, new weapons and armor, new quests, and 50 new Hollow missions. Lastly, fans of the anime and manga can look forward to meeting Alberich and Heathcliff.

Aksys has announced that their upcoming fighter Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!! will launch on September 23 for both PS3 and PS Vita. The US version will also feature a double art insert, with an exclusive fighter-themed cover on one side and the Japanese cheerleader-themed cover on the other. The 23-character fighter will feature new brawlers, online play with lobby support for up to six players, and over 300 hidden scenarios. Nearly a dozen new screenshots were also released, showing more of the crew in action.

Spry Fox’s roguelike puzzler Road Not Taken has launched for Mac, Windows PC and PS4. As a ranger, players will set out into the aftermath of a winter storm in search of lost children. The story is said to change with each playthrough, as the ranger only has 15 years to live and how often he goes out, who he rescues, and how he makes his way through the wilds will determine how the game unfolds.

Rising Star has announced that they will be releasing La-Mulana EX for PS Vita, an enhanced version of the Metroidvania-esque action-adventure title La-Mulana. Previously released for Windows PC and Wii via WiiWare, EX marks the first time the game has gone mobile. What’s being added hasn’t been revealed, but the publisher did say that the handheld version will be available later this year.

New Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair screenshots showcase several new gameplay elements. Hangman’s Gambit, which was in the original, is being revamped for the sequel with linked words becoming increasingly unstable and potentially explosive if not used. Rebuttal Showdown now allows the other characters to interrupt the player’s arguments in one-on-one debates, and an entirely new trial addition, Logic Dive has the player skateboarding through a glowing path as they attempt to stay on the right path during their argument.

Tetris Ultimate out this fall online for console and PC, retail for 3DS

Tetris, also known as The Best Game Ever, will be making its way to 3DS, PC, PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One this fall in Tetris Ultimate. Ubisoft has announced that this latest iteration will feature six modes, including a Challenge mode for solo players and seven modes for 1-4 players, such as Sprint, a race to clear 40 lines as quickly as possible; Battle Ultimate, a last-man-standing mode that will feature power-ups; and Ultra, where the goal is to score as many points as possible in three minutes. Worldwide leaderboards will also be supported.
