Valkyria Revolution gets new video, freebies, and DLC schedule

Another music-centric video has been released for Valkyria Revolution. The previous footage featured composer Mitsuda-san, while the latest finds him joined by vocalist Sarah Alainn. The two play and discuss the track “Eternal Rest.” Additionally, a free theme for PS4 and PS Vita has gone live, as has a massive list of upcoming downloadable content. Strategy role-playing game God Wars Future Past out for PS4, PS Vita

NIS is letting players battle alongside the gods today with the release of God Wars Future Past. The strategy-heavy role-playing game puts players in the shoes of an escaped sacrifice, Princess Kaguya, who must fight her way through the lands of Mizuho. The story is steeped in Japanese mythology, and will introduce players to gods from Japan’s pantheon. Three free downloadable items were also detailed, with the debut release being Kaguya’s Equipment Set, which will add the God Bow, God Hood, and God Robe on June 20. Following the next week, on June 27, is Additional Scenario 1 with an extra story battle that becomes accessible after finishing the main story. Lastly is Additional Scenario 2, on July 5, which will add another post-campaign story battle that ties into the aftermath of Additional Scenario 1.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim teaser definitely teases for E3

Attlluuusss! The studio, who just last week revealed their plans to localize 13 Sentinels, has released a video showing more of the game … kind of. E3 2017: Atlus/Sega – Yakuza, Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami, more

Atlus and Sega have compiled a handy list of their upcoming titles, complete with trailers and descriptions. All of these have been previously announced, with the latest being Atlus’ big three: Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. Atlus to bring Vanillaware’s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim stateside

Atlus is planning to localize Vanillaware’s mecha-heavy action title 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. The game is currently in development, and is being headed by Dragon’s Crown and Odin Sphere director George Kamitani. Unlike their previous titles, 13 Sentinels will take place in a contemporary setting that favors technology over magic.

Valkyria Revolution video highlights composer Yasunori Mitsuda

A new video out of Sega features composer Yasunori Mitsuda discussing the soundtrack for Valkyria Revolution. Said to be inspired by Europe’s industrial revolution, Mitsuda had the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra conduct a live concert-hall recording to capture the mood of the era. The group is joined by the Australian-Japanese singer Sarah Alainn. Sega also revealed a digital pre-order bonus that includes two scenarios (The Formation of Vanargand and The Ring of Contract), 30 ragnite shards, and a set of special combat ragnite (Time Flux+, Heal Field+, Fall Earth+, and Shine Calibur+). Additionally, PS4 owners will receive an extra digital pre-order bonus, The Princess and the Valkyria theme.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana dated for September 12

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will be released in stores and online on September 12 for PS4 and PS Vita, and digitally for PC. The new adventure, the first in eight years, will once again find Adol battling his way throughout a dangerous land. His latest outing finds him shipwrecked alongside fellow passengers on a cursed, isolated island that also happens to be crawling with beasts. After creating a makeshift village, Adol must set out to uncover the mysteries of the land. For players who prefer the original voice tracks, the game will sport both English and Japanese audio tracks.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception out for PS4, PS Vita

Atlus has released Aquaplus’ visual novel and strategy role-playing hybrid Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception. The 40-plus hour adventure follows the amnesiac Haku as he makes his way around a strange world with his newfound friend Kuon. Along the way, the two will meet an expanding cast of characters and take them on board as they battle bandits, monsters, and other enemies throughout lands of Yamato.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth hitting PS4, PS Vita this September

Utawarerumono: Mask Of Deception’s sequel, Mask of Truth, is slated to be released on September 5. Set shortly after the events in Mask of Deception, the story follows returning characters who must create an alliance between fractious kingdoms in order to stave off the armies of the Yamato Empire. As with its predecessor, the story will play out with visual-novel-style cutscenes while combat will retain the turn- and elemental-based system. It will also feature the original Japanese audio throughout its estimated 80-plus-hour-long campaign.
