Massively multiplayer first-person shooter Dust 514 received a new update today, Uprising 1.5. CCP’s latest patch features revised tutorials, which are now designed around a reward- and task-given structure; a new Squad Finder that lists all available squads awaiting players, a brief description, and a latency indicator; new War Points; and new Corporation Roles, allowing CEOs and directors to assign additional offices to other corporation members (Accountant, Personnel Director, Terrestrial Combat Officer, and Terrestrial Logistics Officer). For more information on all of the tweaks, as well as what each new corporate position entails, check out the official blog and patch notes.
Dust 514 development continues to roll along, and developer CCP Games has announced a new milestone for the massively multiplayer first-person shooter, Uprising. The hefty update coincides with the tenth anniversary of Eve Online’s launch, and brings the PC MMO and the free-to-play PS3 exclusive closer to complete integration. Not only will Uprising bring the universes closer together, but it will also improve the visuals, streamline the interface, incorporate planetary conquests, and add new battlegrounds, modes, gear, and weapons.
CCP Games’ PS3-exclusive massively multiplayer shooter Dust 514 has entered open beta. A recent update has merged the universes of Dust 514 and Eve Online so that players from each will experience the games as a whole, with PC players battling in orbit around the planets that PS3 gamers are fighting to control. As an example of the faction dynamics and interplay involved, the header imagine and initial screenshots show an orbital strike called in from a Dust 514 player and the resulting bombardment courtesy of an Eve Online player.
The worlds of Eve Online and free-to-play shooter Dust 514 will be getting closer to full integration next week when Dust moves into open beta on January 22. The first step was accomplished on January 10 when developer CCP Games merged the two on the Eve server Tranquility, and as Dust nears its launch, the game’s full suite of features will come online. Current players will also be happy to hear that they can start building up their character stats today as CCP has no subsequent character resets planned. For full migration plans, check out the official Eve website.
CCP’s massively multiplayer action title Dust 514 gets one step closer to final launch with the release of the latest update, Codex. The newest additions include Corporations, the guild-styled squad system also found in Eve Online, female avatars, new weapons, the Skill system, and more environments. Current players can get the most out of the newly implemented Skills by earning double points from now until November 8.
CCP has sent along some new shotsshots from Gamescom showing off the latest beta build of Dust 514, their upcoming MMOFPS for PS3. Today is also the beginning of the planned extensive integration with CCP’s other MMO, Eve Online for PC. In addition, the update also includes “Orbital Strike framework, instant battle matchmaking, new environments, keyboard and mouse support, and tons of other enhancements.”
PlayStation Plus subscribers eager to try out CCP Games’ upcoming MMOFPS Dust 514 will be able to jump into the fray next week. A special closed beta event for subscribers will run from August 21 to September 4, but they won’t be alone, as they will be joined by gamers who bought the game’s Mercenary Pack or the All-Access Pass. August 21 also marks the day of the Precursor release, which begins the process of integrating Dust 514 and Eve Online, adding the ability for players to call in orbital strikes, access new environments, and utilize instant battle matchmaking.
