Konami has gone for a double whammy to entice gamers into grabbing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Not only have they lowered the price to $29.99, but they have also tossed in the Jetstream and Blade Wolf character download packs. The Jetstream DLC features Samuel Rodriguez, Raiden’s dashing sword-wielding rival, in his own side story that details his origins. The Blade Wolf DLC is a similar origin-themed release that reveals the backstory of Blade Wolf, previously known as LQ-84i. In addition to seeing how he came to serve under Desperado Enforcement’s Sundowner, players will also get to experience a new boss battle.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be available “soon” for PC, according to Konami. The Platinum Games and Kojima Production’s co-production is an action spin-off that features Raiden, now a cyborg ninja on a mission to stop the private military contractor Desperado Enforcement. The PC version will be a download-only release, and Konami has noted that it should run at 60 frames per second “on most modern PCs.”

After a flurry of videos and screenshots, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has hit store shelves. The Kojima Productions and Platinum Games co-production features the former’s flair for storytelling and the latter’s love of crazy action in a new tale featuring everyone’s favorite white-haired ninja, Raiden. Well, maybe “favorite” is a strong word. More like the “Where did Solid Snake go? Who is this guy?!” game-usurping white-haired ninja. But this is the new-and-improved Raiden, the one from Metal Gear Solid 4, kitted out with cyborg limbs and a massive sword. It’s that same sword that will be used to dismember innumerable cyborgs and take down the notorious PMC Desperado Enforcement.
