Rayman Origins demo now available for 3DS on eShop

A demo has launched on the Nintendo eShop for Ubisoft’s 3DS platformer Rayman Origins. The demo includes three of the game’s 60-plus levels: Swinging Caves, Playing in the Shade, and Shooting Me Softly. As Rayman or Globox, players will be able to swim, dive, and HairlyCopter about, getting a sample of the wide range of moves and play styles that the full version has to offer. There is no time limit, and the game tracks score and time attack records for increased replayability.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 to get Episode II and Episode Metal in May

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be expanding on May 15 (PSN) and 16 (Live) with Episode II and a new unlockable story, Episode Metal. The new episode will be 1200 MS Points/$14.99, and for those who already own Episode I, a new four-level expansion featuring Metal Sonic will be available for play. Players will take Metal Sonic through reworked Acts from Episode I and help him prepare for his upcoming battle with Sonic in Episode II.

Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion officially announced for 3DS

Disney Interactive is expanding their Epic Mickey line with Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion for the 3DS. Debuted in the latest Nintendo Power, Power of Illusion is said to offer “an interactive combination of painting, dual screen integration and 3D transformation capabilities” which will allow players “to create objects and even characters they can place in the world of Wasteland.” Players will be able to sketch out objects and have them morph into Disney-style illustrations. By moving the object to the top screen, they then transform the item into a colored, rendered 3D object to be used in-game.

Crush3D now available at GameStop

Sega’s GameStop-exclusive puzzle-platformer Crush3D has launched for the 3DS. Expanding on the original Crush, the latest version includes new locations, characters, and hint system. As Danny, players will have to navigate their mind by crushing platforms from 2D to 3D and back, in order to bypass obstacles and battle enemies. New features for the 3DS include 3D graphics and StreetPass support, which will allow players to exchange gifts with others as well as earn Gift Points to access new bonuses.

Sega is firmly planting the Sonic flag on the PC today with a number of releases featuring everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog. Sonic Generations is first up, with a new level available for download, the Casino Night Pinball Stage. Also available today is Sonic CD, a remake of the 1993 Sega CD original that sees Sonic battling Metal Sonic. And lastly, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I has also launched, with Episode II set for release later this year.
