Blazing Star, Last Blade, dozen more SNK titles added to GOG.com

SNK has brought several of their lines to GOG.com. Fifteen of their arcade hits have been added to the DRM-free platform, including Baseball Stars 2, Blazing Star, Fatal Fury Special, Last Blade, Metal Slug, Samurai Shodown (1, II, and the elusive V Special), Shock Troopers, and The King of Fighters (2000 and 2002). Some of them support GOG Galaxy features, such as achievements, leaderboards and multiplayer. The games can be purchased individually or as a part of three bundles, and are discounted from 50-75% off.

Lock’s Quest returns, now available for console, PC

Digital Continue’s updated Lock’s Quest has launched for console and PC. The tower-defense-style game was originally developed by 5th Cell for Nintendo DS, and has been updated with several new modes and improvements. Some of the changes include remastered music with an orchestrated intro and ending, a progression system with plot-specific turret unlocks, a revamped AI and interface, and a new Antonia Defense Battles Endless Mode. The story remains the same, however, with players managing the defense systems of a village during a 75-day-long war.

Titanfall 2 – Monarch’s Reign adds new Titan and reimagined map

Titanfall 2’s latest download pack, Monarch’s Reign, has gone live. The drop adds the seventh multiplayer Titan, the IMC’s reverse-engineered Vanguard-class Titan dubbed Monarch. Their take focuses on support options with a unique Upgrade Core that allows for improved combat abilities during battle based on Pilot-set options. Players can also recharge the unit’s shields by drawing power from enemy or friendly Titans. Relic, a map from the original Titanfall, also returns, now set in the wreck of the IMC carrier IMS Odyssey. The pack also adds for-pay cosmetic items, art packs, and a callsign pack.

Call of Duty World League – Global Pro League Stage 1 begins today

Activision is set to run the Stage 1 Playoffs of the Call of Duty World League (CWL) in a few hours. Eight teams will square off for a share of the Global Pro League Stage 1’s $700,000 prize pool later today, beginning at 3:00 p.m. (CST). The follow-up matches will take place tomorrow, starting at noon (CST). Players can tune in at MLG.tv to watch a livestream of the program. The schedule can be found below.

Far Cry 5 announced for console, PC, arriving next February

Ubisoft has detailed the next entry in the Far Cry series. Far Cry 5 will be set in Hope County, Montana, as players take on a doomsday cult known as Project at Eden’s Gate. Shortly after the player’s arrival, the group takes over the county, forcing them to join the local resistance and square off against the zealots. The campaign will be set across farmland, forests, and mountains, and with a variety of vehicles to traverse the areas, such as airplanes, complete with dogfighting, ATVs, big rigs, muscle cars, and boats. The campaign will be playable solo, augmented by Guns for Hire and Fangs for Hire (including bears, of course), and in two-player co-op. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana dated for September 12

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will be released in stores and online on September 12 for PS4 and PS Vita, and digitally for PC. The new adventure, the first in eight years, will once again find Adol battling his way throughout a dangerous land. His latest outing finds him shipwrecked alongside fellow passengers on a cursed, isolated island that also happens to be crawling with beasts. After creating a makeshift village, Adol must set out to uncover the mysteries of the land. For players who prefer the original voice tracks, the game will sport both English and Japanese audio tracks.

Horror-themed vertical shooter Castle of Shikigami headed to Steam

Degica has announced that they are currently working on porting another shooter to PC, Alfa System’s Castle of Shikigami. Later this summer, players will be stepping in to assist Tokyo’s Metropolitan Police Force in their attempt to take down a murderous cult. The game will feature six playable characters, five multipart stages, two-player local co-op, and support for achievements, leaderboards, and trading cards. In addition to the game, which will launch at $11.99, Degica is also going to offer the game’s soundtrack for $4.99.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 officially dated for September 14

Divinity: Original Sin’s expansive follow-up will be released before the summer is out. Larian Studios has revealed that Divinity: Original Sin 2 launch online and in stores on September 14. The sequel will feature Game Master and player-versus-player modes at release, allowing players to create tabletop-style adventures or battle against one another in an arena. To celebrate the announcement, Larian has released a patch for the Steam Early Access version. Early buyers can now access two additional areas, try out a new companion relationship system, and experiment with updated character-creation and item-crafting mechanics. Bandai Namco has released a little eye candy for Tekken fans with the opening cinematic from Tekken 7. Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap headed to PC on June 8
