Dark Souls II: Crown of the Ivory King, the final release in the downloadable The Lost Crowns Trilogy, has been officially date for September 30. As with the first two entries, Crown of the Sunken King and Crown of the Old Iron King, the pack will add new environments, enemies, traps, and bosses. After this final journey, those who’ve braved the post-release adventure will claim possession of all the crowns once owned by King Vendrick.

Tropico 5 now available online for Linux, Mac and SteamOS

The Tropican Department of Information has announced that El Presidente has single–handedly, and most gloriously, completed development of Tropico 5 for Linux, Mac, and SteamOS. Available through the Mac App Store and Steam, the latest installment adds a new Dynasty System to the series’ traditional city-building and political elements, allowing players to extend their rule through multiple eras. The App Store version features cross-platform multiplayer, while the Steam version also supports cross-platform multiplayer as well as Big Picture Mode and controllers. Steam users who already purchased Tropico 5 can download the new versions for free.

Age of Wonders III gets new units, modes, more with Golden Realms

Triumph Studios has released the first expansion for Age of Wonders III, Golden Realms. The add-on includes a little of everything. In addition to the three-scenario campaign Golden Realms, the pack adds the Halfling race, wild magic, new map locations, guerrilla warfare skills, 20-plus units, 50 artifacts, and two scenarios. Additional features added to the regular maps and randomly generated maps include empire quests, mystical city upgrades, defensive city upgrades, and a new ‘King of the Hill’-type victory condition.

Alien: Isolation’s Survivor Mode now official, DLC packs announced

Sega has officially announced Alien: Isolation’s Survivor Mode, which was debuted earlier this year at E3. As a terrified survivor on board the Sevastopol Station, players must make use of limited resources in order to avoid detection by a lone Xenomorph while also completing a series of objectives. The game will ship with one map, Basement, but more will be available as downloadable content beginning on October 28. Basement will include three new maps as well as a new playable character. Five add-on packs in total will be released by March, each featuring a new playable character, different enemies to avoid, and new maps. A Season Pass is now available for all packs, offering a savings of 25%.

The Evil Within gets new gameplay trailer for Tokyo Game Show

Bethesda has released a new gameplay trailer for The Evil Within, the upcoming survival-horror title from Tango Gameworks, just in time for the Tokyo Game Show. The video runs for a little over a minute and a half and features new traps, enemies, and locations. Gamers will get a chance to help the unfortunate Detective Castellanos through this world of horrors in just a few more weeks.

Shadowgate now on GOG at 20% off, with ringtones and other extras

Zojoi’s re-imagining of the classic point-and-click adventure title Shadowgate is now available on GOG.com. To promote the launch, GOG.com is offering a 20% discount on both Mac and Windows versions. Grand Theft Auto V for next-gen console, PC dated, media released

Rockstar has announced that the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V will launch on November 18 for console and January 27 for PC. A host of new, exclusive content was also revealed. In addition to graphical improvements, including higher resolution and greater draw distances, there will be new activities, weapons, vehicles, foliage system, new songs (100+), and DJ mixes. There will also be more wildlife and traffic, an enhanced weather effects, and improved damage effects. PS3 and Xbox 360 owners picking up one of the new versions will also receive some extras, including new activities (e.g., wildlife photography), shooting range challenges, weapons, and rare versions of vehicles from previous entries, such as a faster, nimbler Blimp. GTA Online is also getting a player limit boost up to 30. Pre-orders will also receive $1,000,000 in in-game cash for both the single-player portion and GTA Online.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 to be released in episodes and on disc

Capcom has detailed their plans for the release of Resident Evil Revelations 2. The sequel will continue the episodic format of the original, but instead of simply being a method presentation, the breaks will constitute individual weekly downloads that will run for a four-episode season. Each episode will be available individually for $5.99 or altogether as a Complete Season bundle for $24.99. Those who prefer a physical copy will be able to buy a retail disc version, set to ship after the final episode goes live, for $39.99. Additional, unspecified extra content will be included with the Complete Season bundle, which will also be included along with even more bonus content in the physical version. Revelations 2 follows Terra Save agents Claire Redfield and Moira Burton in their attempt to escape a zombie- and mutant-infested prison.

Alien: Isolation has gone gold, beware the approaching xenomorphs

Sega has announced that Alien: Isolation has gone gold. To begin the final countdown until its release next month, developer Creative Assembly has revealed the first of a new set of trailers focused on the theme of survival—well, a hashtag focused on the theme of survival, “#howwillyousurvive?” As might be expected, things don’t end well for the unnamed human trying to outrun rampaging xenomorphs.

Alien: Isolation is scheduled to launch on October 7 for 360, PC, PS3, PS4 and Xbox One.
