Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, Re-Elect announced for console, PC

During their panel at PAX Prime, Volition took the opportunity to announce two new Saints Row projects, Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell and Saints Row: Re-Elect. Both titles were available at Deep Silver’s booth for attendees to try out, and both will be available on January 27. Gat Out of Hell is a standalone expansion for Saints Row IV that will pit players, as either Johnny Gat or Kinzie Kensington, against the forces of hell in a quest to save the soul of the gang’s leader. In addition to a musical number, players can also look forward to fighting historical figures as well as old enemies and a few old friends. Re-Elected is an updated version of Saints Row IV for PS4 and Xbox One.

Lockout being reimagined for Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Microsoft has announced that Lockout will join Halo 2 multiplayer maps Ascension, Coagulation, Sanctuary, and Zanzibar in being reimagined for the upcoming compilation Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Max Hoberman, president of Certain Affinity and one of Halo 2’s lead designers, described some of the changes to the three-level map: “most prominent among these are a bit of cover added to the ‘Elbow,’ the long walkway connecting the grav lift to the sniper tower, and a dynamic element that should help counter an entrenched group of enemies.” Lockout will also be one of the levels playable at the Xbox Booth (#412, #422, #432) at PAX Prime. 343 Industries will be hosting a number of events at PAX, including a signing, a panel, and a weekend-long tournament, details of which can be found below. Gauntlet delayed until Sept. 23, pre-order bonus and PAX info detailed

Gauntlet, the upcoming reboot of the classic top-down action title, has been pushed back to September 23, according to Warner Bros. Interactive. The additional time is needed to ‘fine-tune’ the multiplayer component. To thank those who have pre-ordered for their patience, the studio has added a new in-game bonus, a special Wizard’s Robe made from dead imps that is known The Spawn of Kerthull (pictured below). For those attending PAX Prime 2014, a four-day tournament is being held with several notable personalities, including Jerry and Mike, that will be livestreamed on the official PAX Prime Twitch channel, the details of which can be found below.

Titanfall update adds menu shortcut, Private Match beta, and more

A new update has gone live for Titanfall. The latest patch adds several new features and tweaks, including an Xbox One Party App shortcut in the One’s menu, a beta version of Private Match, indicators on the minimap when grunts shoot, and three new scoreboard icons. Dying Light pre-order bonus announced, Be the Zombie mode

Warner Bros. announced at this year’s PAX that Techland’s upcoming zombie-themed action title Dying Light will come with a special pre-order bonus, Be the Zombie mode. The mode will allow players to take control of the undead in the game’s player-versus-player component at launch. As a bonus, gamers will get to control a special mutation known as the Night Hunter, which protects the zombie hive at night from human hunters with increased speed, a tendril for grappling, charge attacks, and long-distance attacks. Night hunters also have their own skill tree, as well as offer their own rewards and perks. New screens were also released.

2K Games to invade PAX: Borderlands 2, The Darkness II, and Xcom

2K Games has announced their PAX Prime 2011 line-up. In addition to a playable demo of and panel on The Darkness II, there will also be a playable demo and presentation of Xcom as well as a panel and official unveiling of Borderlands 2.

Orcs Must Die! to be playable at PAX, plus in-game extras and more

Robot Entertainment has sent word that their upcoming action-strategy title Orcs Must Die! will be playable at PAX. Both the 360 and PC versions will be set up at the company’s booth, 940, for the duration of the show, from August 26 to 28. As a bonus, attendees who visit the booth and sign up for their forums will earn a Steam code for a free War Mage costume based on Penny Arcade’s Cardboard Tube Samurai character. Other goodies will also be available, including shirts, hats, buttons, and for the first 200 to try the game, a prequel comic book.
