The final downloadable pack has been announced for Dark Souls III. In The Ringed City, players will be seeking out the Slave Knight Gael in search of the Dark Soul of Humanity. Their quest will take them to the Ringed City, where “they will encounter ancient beasts, a new cast of characters teetering on the edge of insanity, new armor, weapons, magic, and at the bottom of it all, a long lost city filled with new horrors for players to overcome.” Check below to find the announcement trailer.
It’s time to dive back into Dark Souls III with the release of Ashes of Ariandel. The downloadable expansion finds players exploring the mystery behind an ancient cursed painting. Their journey will take them inside the painting to an area that hosts new enemies, lore, armor, spells, and weapons. A new multiplayer mode is also being added, Undead Matches. The versus mode allows players to battle other Cursed Undead, team up to face off against other teams, and go all in with others in matches of up to five combatants.
Souls fans are getting a chance to see more of Dark Souls III’s upcoming downloadable pack, Ashes of Ariandel. As the add-on closes in on its release date, October 25, FromSoftware offers a closer look at the multiplayer covenants and Undead Matches. The new player-versus-player mode allows players to battle their friends in duels or against up to five others in free-for-all and team-based matches.
Bandai Namco has detailed the first downloadable add-on for Dark Souls III, Ashes of Ariandel. The first of two expansions, Ashes of Ariandel will send players to the frozen realm of Ariandel to uncover the evil behind the land’s woes. The journey will feature new armor sets, enemies, magic, weapons, and (undetailed) multiplayer features. Events will also expand on the overarching storyline. A batch of screenshots, along with a trailer, were released to offer an early look at the new quest.
FromSoftware is back with a new teeth-gritting adventure for souls fans. Today marks the first of several sick days for many a people with the release of Dark Souls III. As the Champion of Ash, players must traverse the world of Lothric, avoiding its many traps and tackling the numerous enemies within, to unite the five Lords of Cinder to stave off the Age of Dark. Multiplayer also returns, allowing players to once again leave messages for fellow adventurers, summon or be summoned to lend a hand, and invade to pick a fight. Just be sure to grab your Estus Flask before heading out.
Eli Roth has put his mark on the Dark Souls universe with a new animated trailer inspired by the series. Titled The Witches, the video isn’t a direct take from Dark Souls III but an original story set within its world. The tale finds a tired knight finding himself beset by three witches.
A new trailer has gone live for Dark Souls III. The video, Accursed Trailer, reveals the shadows of life and light that followed fire into the world. There is also some general gameplay in the nearly three minutes of footage, including some of the player-versus-player combat, hordes of enemies, and giant bosses that players will face in the upcoming action role-playing game.
Bandai Namco has released over a dozen new screenshots from Dark Souls III. The shots show several of the classes in action, including the Assassin, Cleric, Deprived, Herald of White, Knight, Mercenary, Thief, and Warrior. A few shots of co-op and invasion, as well as some character art, were also in the bundle.
A new gameplay trailer has gone live for Dark Souls III. The video, titled True Colors of Darkness, runs a little over two minutes and features sweeping shots of several areas, some ominous-looking buildings, a handful of the new enemy types, and some good old melee combat. In a strange bit of marketing synergy, it also has the new version of the song True Colors.
