Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Orcs Must Die
Robot Entertainment has released their free-to-play tower-defense-style title Orcs Must Die! Unchained for PS4. As the defender of a fortress, players must set out a variety of traps in order to fend off millions of orc invaders. As one of a dozen-plus heroes, they can also use special abilities in direct combat. Up to teams of three can participate in several different modes, including Sabotage, Survival, and Versus. PS Plus members who install the game automatically receive an exclusive pack of in-game currency, skins, consumables, and other extras worth over $20.
Robot Entertainment has updated the open beta for Orcs Must Die! Unchained. The patch affects Survival mode, with minion waves rebalanced to offer a tougher challenge to high-level players as well as making them faster but weaker to attacks. Heroes also now have greater damage bonuses for both melee and magic, and their ranks are being bolstered by a new addition, Bloodspike the Brutal. Lastly, a new battleground similar to levels from the first two Orcs Must Die! has been added, Banquet Hall Survival. Other changes were made to crafting and traps, which have been detailed in a new blog post.
Despite a sound thrashing last year, the orcs have returned with their monster allies in Robot Entertainment’s latest action-strategy release, Orcs Must Die! 2. The sequel follows the original with a new campaign, playable in single player and co-op; 50-plus weapons, traps, and guardians; over 225 persistent trap and weapon upgrade unlocks; and redesigned spellbook. In addition to the campaign, players can go back through 10 levels from the original in Classic Mode and take on waves of enemies in the Horde-style Endless Mode.
Despite your best efforts to burn, impale, and smash the barbarous orcs into oblivion, many remain to threaten the land. Fortunately, Robot Entertainment is giving you another shot with the recently announced Orcs Must Die! 2. The sequel will include new enemies, defenses, spells, and upgrade system, as well as a solo and co-op campaign playable as a War Mage or Sorceress. As an added bonus, those who own the original will unlock exclusive content in the sequel.
Robot Entertainment’s recently released action-strategy title Orcs Must Die! will be getting its first DLC pack. The PC version will be receiving the first of two planned DLC releases, the Artifacts of Power pack, on October 25. The $2.49 pack will include two new weapons (Vampiric Gauntlets, Alchemist’s Satchel) and two new traps (The Shock Zapper, Floor Scorcher).
After recently launching on Live Arcade, Robot Entertainment’s action-strategy title Orcs Must Die! has hit Steam. The release is a day ahead of schedule, and as a bonus, gamers who purchase the game before 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (PST) will receive the Knight of the Order costume for the War Mage.
Robot Entertainment’s action-strategy title Orcs Must Die! is now available for the 360 on Live Arcade (1200 MS Points). Orcs Must Die! tasks players with donning the robe of a War Mage and defending 24 besieged fortresses with 17 trap types and a half-dozen weapons and spells from orcs and other monsters.
