Nordic Games has released Medieval Horror, the first DLC pack for Painkiller Hell & Damnation. The multiplayer-centric drop, now available on Steam, expands Survival with a new mode (Boss Audience), new boss and multiplayer skin (White Demon), new enemy and multiplayer skin (Assassin Greed), environmental weapon (Parcel Gun), new Tarot Card (Fear), one new map (Inhumator), and three older maps available in HD or classic mode (Psycho, Illuminati, and Chaos).

PC gamers have been downing demons in Painkiller Hell & Damnation since last October, but not so with console gamers. That’s set to change, though not for a few months, as Nordic Games has announced that the 360 and PS3 version will hit store shelves on April 5. Hell & Damnation features a four-chapter campaign that can be played solo or with others in co-op, as well as several multiplayer modes.

The Book of Unwritten Tales now available online for PC

King Art Games’ latest adventure title, The Book of Unwritten Tales, has launched on Steam, GOG.com, and other digital outlets. Published by Nordic Games, BoUT is a 20-plus-hour adventure featuring three characters who must use over 300 items to solve more than 200 puzzles set in over 60 locations in order to thwart the Army of the Shadows in their pursuit of a powerful artifact.

The Book of Unwritten Tales to get English release via GOG, Steam

Traditional adventure games are getting a bit of wind in their sails thanks to digital distribution, and soon, King Art’s The Book of Unwritten Tales will find its way onto many a North American hard drives. Nordic Games has bowed to the power that is Diablo and delayed the launch of SpellForce 2’s second standalone add-on, Faith in Destiny. Originally scheduled to launch on May 15, Nordic has acknowledged that gamers, and they themselves, will be too busy slaying the minions of hell in Blizzard’s Diablo III and felt it best to hold off the release until June 19. While Nordic would like to launch sooner, they state that their internal schedule did not allow for an earlier release.

Alan Wake launches on Steam, new diary for American Nightmare

Alan Wake has finally made its way to PC. After years of previews and a year-plus of coverage for the Xbox 360 version, Remedy’s psychological action thriller has launched for PC on Steam. A retail version, from Nordic Games, will be hitting store shelves “shortly.” The download version is $29.99 and features both available DLC packs, The Signal and The Writer, as well as support for multiple monitors and stereoscopic 3D. There are also multiple configurable control schemes and options to both hide the HUD and adjust the field of view.

Alan Wake to make PC debut on Steam later this month

Remedy has announced that they will be launching Alan Wake, their appropriately dubbed psychological action thriller, later this month on Steam. On February 16, PC gamers will get to step into the shoes of one Mr. A. Wake as they make their way through the town of Bright Falls in a quest to find their missing love and unravel a reality-warping mystery. The $29.99 release not only includes the original game but all of the DLC available for the 360 version (a Limited Collector’s Edition will also be available for $34.99). The PC version will support higher resolutions, multiple control schemes, and both AMD Eyefinity 3D 3-screen mode and Nvidia Nvision Sterescopic 3D.

Alan Wake – PC version to get retail release

Remedy Games’ excellent psychological action thriller Alan Wake will be hitting store shelves for the PC, courtesy of Nordic Games. The boxed edition will include both of the DLC releases currently available on Live Marketplace for the 360 version, The Signal and The Writer.
