Grand Kingdom to come with free character, campaign DLC

Grand Kingdom is getting grander for its North American release. NIS has sent word that they are bundling in the for-pay character and campaign downloadable content that was sold in Japan. The freebies will add new characters, a trailer for which can be found below, as well as four nine-chapter campaigns that span all factions. And for those looking to grab it at a discount, the game is now up for pre-order on PSN for 10% off. Pre-orders also come with an exclusive theme and four scrolls that allow players to re-customize the four mercenaries’ appearance and stats.

Phantom Brave PC heading to Steam this July for Windows PC

NIS will be porting their 2004 PS2 tactical role-playing game Phantom Brave to PC. Scheduled to launch this July on Steam, the PC version is based off the later Wii release, We Meet Again, which includes the extra content that was added for the PSP version, The Hermuda Triangle. Basically, it’s the definitive version. Gameplay revolves around a turn-based battle system that features over 400 skills and spells, as well as the ability to bind phantom souls to objects for use in combat.

Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet headed stateside September 9

Cubetype’s hybrid twin-stick shooter/fighter Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet will be blasting its way onto PS4 on September 9. The game will be available digitally and physically, and as a limited edition bundled with an art book, art cards, a soundtrack, and bonus downloadable content. Players will be able to choose from 10 different characters to compete in one-on-one combat using shooter mechanics to learn about each in Story Mode. After perfecting the use of spell cards and customized projectiles, players can then try their hand at fighting others over PSN.

Stranger of Sword City now available in stores, online for PS Vita

It’s time to head to Escario. The mysterious city calls handheld adventurers with the release of Stranger of Sword City for PS Vita. Players find themselves stuck in another realm after surviving a plane crash. After coming into contact with others, they discover that three factions of fellow Strangers are trying to get home and view the newcomer as the Chosen One. Players must use melee and magical powers to hunt powerful monsters to gather their embedded crystals in order to gain enough strength to make their way home.

Stranger of Sword City headed to Steam this June for Windows PC

NIS has announced that their upcoming PS Vita dungeon-crawler Stranger of Sword City will be hitting Steam. Scheduled to launch this June, the PC version will feature a new mode, Picture Gate. The mode will allow players to upload an image to be used in-game for a character portrait. An example was sent along to show off a Prinny that’s been added using the feature. Players awake to find themselves in the city of Escario, the sole survivor of a plane crash. And not only that, but according to the three ruling factions, also the Chosen One. They must use their newfound power to hunt monsters through various labyrinths in order to gather rare crystals that will make them stronger as well as help them find a way home.

Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness headed stateside, LE detailed

NIS has announced that they will be bringing Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness to North America.The Mages-developed visual novel is in development for PC (Windows and Steam), PS4, and PS Vita, with the console version launching first on September 13. The story follows two new detectives who have been assigned to Tokyo’s MWPSB Criminal Investigation Department Division 1. In 2112, amnesiac, calm-headed inspector Nadeshiko Kugatachi struggles to regain her memories, while her partner, temperamental enforcer Takuma Tsurugi, searches for a childhood friend. The game will also be released as a limited edition with a softcover artbook, a soundtrack, three pencil boards, a themed microfiber cloth, and a collectible box.

Grand Kingdom unit types revealed, free Noble DLC announced

Grand Kingdom’s unit roster is being detailed with new information on the official website and a host of new screenshots. There are 13 units types spread across four classes: Magic, Melee, Ranged, and Specialists. Players will be able to command—deep breath—fighters, blacksmiths, gunners, shamans, dragon mages, medics, arcanists, witches, hunters, rogues, lancers, and challengers. The North American lineup will also be getting a little help with the addition of a unit that has been download-only in Japan, nobles. Check the site for more details and below for the screens.

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book LE detailed

NIS has announced that Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book Limited Edition is now available for pre-order. The PS4 craft-heavy role-playing game will be available as a $99.99 limited edition that includes a copy of the game, a 48-page hardcover art book, a 2-disc soundtrack with a total of 38 tracks, a 40”x26” cloth poster, five 5”x7” mini art prints, and a collector’s box. The Witch and the Hundred Knight: Revival Edition out now for PS4

The Witch and the Hundred Knight has returned today in the Revival Edition for PS4. The enhanced re-release features upgraded visuals, Metallia as a playable character, and a new dungeon, The Tower of Illusion. The tower has an interesting twist, though: players must sacrifice a weapon to enter, and the enemies and loot generated within are determined by the sacrifice.
