Mugen Souls Z coming to North America this May

NIS has announced that Compile Heart and GCrest’s latest Mugen release, Mugen Souls Z, will be available on May 20. Set shortly after the first game, players will control the goddess Syrma and travel alongside Chou-Chou and her motley gang in an effort to stop a mysterious ancient threat. Returning elements include turn-based combat, free-roaming battle maps, heavy customization, and explorable worlds. New additions mentioned include new G-Castle battles, team abilities, and galactic attacks.

New The Witch and the Hundred Knight screens, gameplay footage

NIS has rolled out some new screenshots and videos from their upcoming action role-playing game The Witch and the Hundred Knight. With its release is only a few weeks away, players can get a better look at the trials that await the poor knight who, as a hapless servant, must fight to expand the swamp witch Metallia’s corrosive lands. The videos and shots show the skills he can call upon, as well as the perks and perils of raiding the homes of nearby towns.

New Demon Gaze combat screens, plus free Disgaea character DLC

Following the release last week of new character shots, NIS has sent out a new batch of screens showing the more violent side of dungeon-crawling. The latest media shows the combat system in action, including party members’ skills and some of the enemies. It was also announced that free post-launch DLC will be available for the first month after release, with players able to augment their party with new recruits from a Disgaea-themed character pack off PSN. Five characters are set to answer the call to arms: Etna, Flonne, Sicily, Asagi, and of course, an unlucky Prinny.

Meet the folk of Dragon Princess Inn in new Demon Gaze screens

NIS has released a new batch of character screens from their upcoming PS Vita dungeon crawler Demon Gaze. The new shots show several of Dragon Princess Inn’s regulars, including item shop proprietor Lezerem, stylist Kukure, manager Fran, basement dweller Prometh, and resident mercenary Lancelorna. As the explorer Oz, players will find themselves chatting up all of them up as they restock and kit themselves out after another trip into one of the world’s many dungeons.

NIS has released Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, a new investigative adventure visual novel for PS Vita. Released in Japan for PSP in 2010, the localized version follows the same storyline with players assuming the role of Makoto Naegi, a student at Hope’s Peak Academy who must investigate a series of murders to find out which student is the guilty party. On a slight twist to the traditional whodunit, the school is locked down by a crazy bear named Monokuma, who serves as the judge and jailer, promising freedom to the person who can murder without getting caught. Naegi must gather evidence for both the ongoing trial and to discover who is holding them hostage before time runs out.

The first batch of screenshots from the localized version of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc has been released by NIS America. The investigative mystery title, originally released in 2010 for PSP, puts players in the shoes of Makoto Naegi, a student who must discover the identity of a demented bear named Monokuma. Monokuma has trapped the students in their school, Hope’s Peak Academy, turning it into a prison, and promised freedom to those who can get away with murder. Makoto must present his evidence to Monokuma, who serves as judge and jury in mock trials in which the accused are confronted with evidence Makoto has gathered surrounding the latest murder.
