Grand Kingdom to hit stores, digital outlets in June for PS4, PS Vita

NIS has sent word that their upcoming tactical role-playing game Grand Kingdom will be launching on June 21. Players will be able to lead their mercenary squad on either the PS4 or PS Vita, but it was also revealed today that PS4 owners will be able to do so in style with a launch edition and a limited edition. The launch edition will include a 32-page art book, soundtrack in a cardboard sleeve, and a collector’s box. The limited edition will beef things up a bit with an 128-page art book, soundtrack in a jewel case, poster, decal sticker sheet, and larger collector’s box. The goodies, along with some new Japanese screenshots, are viewable below.

Disgaea PC: Digital Deluxe Dood Edition up for pre-order on Steam

NIS has unlocked Disgaea PC: Digital Deluxe Dood Edition for pre-purchase on Steam. The Steam version runs $19.99 and includes a digital art book and a digital soundtrack. There are actually two versions on offer, however, with the other being a $29.99 physical version through NIS’ online store, Disgaea PC: Deluxe Dood Edition. The physical version includes a collector’s box, digital copy of the game with a digital art book and soundtrack, a 32-track physical soundtrack, and a 44-page hardcover art book.

Stranger of Sword City delayed, gets new in-game art option, trailer

NIS and Experience Inc.’s latest collaboration, Stranger of Sword City, has been delayed a bit and will now launch on April 26. The upcoming dungeon-crawler will also feature a new art option, offering players the choice of two art styles for their in-game graphics. In addition, a new trailer, posted below, was released highlighting some of the characters that the player will meet as they defend the land of Escario.

NIS bringing Spike Chunsoft tactical-RPG Grand Kingdom stateside

NIS America is once again teaming up with developer Spike Chunsoft. This time around, the duo will be releasing a new tactical role-playing game for PS4 and PS Vita, Grand Kingdom. Slated for release this summer, Grand Kingdom will put players in the boots of a mercenary commander who must guide their troop to glory while four great nations battle it out for control of Resonail. In addition to a single-player campaign, online play will also be supported. An announcement trailer and batch of Japanese screenshots have been posted below.

NIS has released a new trailer and screenshots from The Witch and the Hundred Knight: Revival Edition. The upcoming PS4 re-release will feature improved visuals; a new dungeon, The Tower of Illusion, which generates enemies and loots depending on the weapon sacrificed to enter; and as revealed in the trailer, a new quest to summon the Great Witch of the Swamp: Master Metallia as a playable character.

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness hitting Steam in 2016 as Disgaea PC

NIS has announced that their long-running tactical role-playing series Disgaea will be making its PC debut next year. Set to release in February, a revamped port of the first game in the series, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, titled Disgaea PC will launch on Steam. The new version will include all of the content from the PSP re-release Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness as well as an updated interface, improved textures, support for controllers (and keyboard and mouse), and Steam goodies (achievements, badges, cloud saves, and trading cards). The story will take series newcomers back to the beginning, as Laharl, the son of the recently deceased Overlord Krichevskoy, sets off with his vassal Etna and angel trainee Flonne to take control of the Netherworld.

Kadokawa Games’ aerial action title Rodea the Sky Soldier has hit store shelves for 3DS and Wii U. Developed by Sonic and Nights creator Yuji Naka, Rodea tasks players with saving the sky kingdom of Garuda from the renascent forces of the Naga Empire. Also, as a reminder, publisher NIS has included the Wii version in first-run copies of the Wii U version.

It was announced last year that the first-print copies of the Wii U version will come bundled with a copy for Wii, but until now, most of the media released has been focused on the former with little on the latter. This gameplay video marks the debut of the localized last-gen version, which makes for one of the better bonus pack-ins in recent memory.

NIS has announced that they will be releasing a three pack of the crafting-centric role-playing series Atelier, The Arland Atelier Trilogy. The set will be a physical-only, single-disc release for PS3 and include Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland. This is the second trilogy pack announced from NIS, with the first, The Disgaea Triple Play Collection, hitting store shelves next week.
