Zen Studios has announced that Zen Pinball 2 will launch later this month on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U. Zen Pinball 2 is a free download that serves as a platform for players to test out and purchase the myriad tables already available. For those unfamiliar with the table library, Zen has released themed tables for various Marvel comic franchises, including The Avengers and Spider-Man, as well as for other games, such as Plants vs. Zombies.

Disney has followed up the launch of Epic Mickey 2’s 360 and PS3 demo, released earlier this week, with a demo for the upcoming 3DS side-scrolling platformer Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion. Available through the Nintendo eShop, Power of Illusion is reminiscent of—and described as a tribute to—the classic Sega Genesis platformer Castle of Illusion. After falling into the Wasteland, players must take Mickey through the castle to stop the imprisoned witch Mizrabel from draining the essence of popular characters. The demo includes the tutorial and a battle on the Jolly Roger against Captain Hook and his band of pirates.

Heroes of Ruin demo brings RPG action to Nintendo eShop

A new demo has launched on the Nintendo eShop for Square Enix’s upcoming 3DS action-RPG Heroes of Ruin. The trial allows players to create a character from two of the game’s four classes, the sword-wielding Vindicator and firearm-toting Gunslinger, and explore the Elder Forest. The forest hosts several side quests and a boss battle against the spirit known as Michadele, all which can be played through solo or with friends via local and global multiplayer.
