Pokémon X and Pokémon Y launching in stores, online tomorrow

Nintendo will be releasing its latest entries in the Pokémon franchise, X and Y, tomorrow. Both titles will feature a host of new features and content, including the ability to connect with Trainers online, more Trainer customization options, Mega Evolutions and Horde Encounters during combat, three new Pokémon, and touchscreen support for interacting with Pokémon to bond with them for better performance in battle. Players will explore the new region of Kalos on foot or, for the first time, on roller skates, where they will encounter Xerneas in Pokémon X and Yveltal in Pokémon Y.

A new demo for Capcom’s Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies has been released on Nintendo’s eShop. Set to launch on October 24, Wright will return to court in a new case that sees an old rival resurface during a trial against the party behind the destruction of the old courthouse. It was also announced that gamers who purchase Dual Destinies from October 25 to November 7 will receive a free costume pack worth $0.99 that includes new outfits for Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, and Athena Cykes.

Capcom has confirmed that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies will be launching online for 3DS on October 24. The download-only entry will be available on eShop for $29.99 and continue the legal adventures of famed digital attorney Phoenix Wright. Wright will be joined by fellow attorney Apollo Justice and associate attorney Athena Cykes, whose presence introduces new psychoanalysis elements to witness investigations. Nintendo announces Wii U price drop, Zelda Wind Waker HD bundle

Nintendo made a series of announcements today regarding the Wii U and a new handheld, the Nintendo 2DS. Beginning on September 20, the Wii U Deluxe Set will drop by $50 to $299.99, and it will also be available as a new limited-edition bundle for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. The bundled unit will feature a Zelda-themed GamePad with gold lettering, symbols, and Hyrule crest, as well as a voucher for a digital version of Wind Waker HD and a copy of Hyrule Historia via the eShop. Gamers wanting a physical copy of The Wind Waker HD will be able to pick it up on October 4 for $49.99, or with a Ganondorf figurine at GameStop for $54.99.

Atlus has announced the release of the latest in long-running, ever-expanding Shin Megami Tensei series, Shin Megami Tensei IV. Atlus and Nintendo are teaming up to give owners of Fire Emblem Awakening and Shin Megami Tensei IV a special bonus: $30 in eShop credit. The credit can be spent on anything, from DLC to full games. The promo kicks off when SMTIV launches on July 16, and both physical and digital copies are eligible for the credit.

Namco Bandai has released Project X Zone, a cross-over strategy-RPG exploding with fan service. After a rift tears open the borders between time and space, 200 characters from over 25 franchises from Capcom, Namco Bandai, and Sega find themselves teaming up and battling new villains in an attempt to restore order. Characters from Street Fighter, Tekken, Resonance of Fate, Dead Rising, Mega Man, Resident Evil, Virtua Fighter, and more will pair off and assist each other with such fighter-styled moves as Cross Hits, Support Attacks, and Special Attacks.

The quarter-destroying duo of Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara have been brought back from the past with the release of Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara today for PC and PS3 and tomorrow for 360. The Iron Galaxy-developed double pack features both beat ‘em ups and a host of extras, including unlockable concept art, new House Rules customization options, and four-player local and online multiplayer support with drop-in/drop-out play. Players will select one classic D&D class, from the deadly warrior to the powerful mage, and go on an adventure that features branching paths, a lite RPG-style leveling system, and a new dynamic Challenge system.

Zen Pinball 2 launches on eShop for Wii U

Zen Pinball 2 is now available to download from the eShop for Wii U. The free download includes trials for each of the launch tables, as well as the ability unlock the full versions of current and future tables. Pinballers will be able to play on the GamePad with direct play, challenge others locally via splitscreen or hotseat modes, and compete in various challenges for placement in a national ranking system as well as in global tournaments. Several tables are currently available, incuding three Marvel table packs, the three-table Classic pack, and a handful of singles, including Epic Quest and Plants vs. Zombies.
