Boxed version of Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition now in stores

The retail version of Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for PC has landed on store shelves. The digital version was released early last month, and now gamers who prefer the physical route can try the High Voltage Software-adapted release. The Komplete Edition includes all of the DLC previously released for the 360 and PS3 versions: four character packs (Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy Krueger), 15 Klassic Skins, and three Klassic Fatalities (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile). Multiplayer features one-on-one combat and King of the Hill Mode, and gamepads are also supported, including the Tournament Edition Fight Stick.

PC gamers can test their might today with the release of Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition. Available through Steam and other digital outlets, and starting August 6 in select retailers, the High Voltage Software-adapted Komplete Edition includes all of the DLC previously released for the 360 and PS3 versions. The full set of add-ons includes four character packs (Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy Krueger), 15 Klassic Skins, and three Klassic Fatalities (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile). Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that they will be published Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for PC later this summer. Set for a digital release on July 3 and retail release on August 6, the High Voltage Software-ported Komplete Edition will include the original game as well as all available DLC. The post-launch packs added four new fighters (Freddy Krueger, Kenshi, Rain, and Skarlet), 15 Klassic Skins, and three Klassic Fatalities for Reptile, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero.

Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection now on PSN, tomorrow on Live

Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, a compilation comprised of Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, and (fortunately) Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, is now available for the PS3 on PSN. Xbox owners will be able to get in on the action tomorrow when the game launches on Live. PC gamers have to wait a bit longer, unfortunately, as Kollection isn’t due out for PC until later this month. The 800 MS Point/$9.99 set also includes online play, leaderboards and achievements/trophies.

The final DLC character has joined Mortal Kombat’s roster today with the addition of Freddy Krueger. Krueger joins the tournament from the Nightmare Realm, where he must face Shao Kahn in order to break free from the emperor’s hold to return home. Krueger now sports two gloves and features a full move list, fatalities, and an arcade ending. The Krueger pack is going for 400 MS Points/$4.99.

Due out in August for 400 MS Points/$4.99, Freddy Krueger from the famed Nightmare on Elm Street films will join the roster as an entrant from the Dream Realm. Freddy comes packing two fatalities, an arcade ladder story ending, and a bit of an upgrade as he will now sport a second beclawed glove.

Rain makes the third of four DLC characters to join the ranks of the Netherworld combatants, following Skarlet and Kenshi, bringing with him an arcade ladder story ending and two fatalities. Rain is available for 400 MS Points on Live, or as part of the Season Pass program, and $4.99 on PSN.
