Bandai Namco will be launching a Naruto Shippuden collection on August 25 for console and PC. The compilation will feature all four titles from the Ultimate Ninja Storm series. The first three entries will be remastered for the current console generation, while all of the games, including the fourth, will have all of their respective major downloadable packs. The physical release also comes with a Steelbook case, art book, and at select retailers, bonus anime.
Gamers looking forward to the next Naruto are getting their first look at the Hidden Leaf Village ninjas today in new screens from Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution. The shots show the characters, including Iruka Umino and Konohamaru Sarutobi, showing off some of their special attacks in combat.
Naruto’s mom, Kushina Uzumaki, is the latest addition to Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution’s (whew) playable cast of characters. She also introduces a new storyline to the series, The Far Reaches of Hope, which will feature her as well as Rin, Kakashi, and Obito from Team Minato. New screenshots were released showing her and her deadly frying-pan combat skills in action.
The Ultimate Ninja Storm series will be returning to the 360 and PS3 next year with Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution. Developer CyberConnect2 continues to helm the franchise and will be adding new techniques, including Combination Ultimate Jutsu attacks for stronger combos, and over 100 characters from both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden story arcs. Manga creator Masashi Kishimoto will also be providing a brand-new character.
Naruto returns to gaming today with Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst for 360 and PS3. This is an expanded version of Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, released earlier this year, and includes a new chapter, featuring Sasuke and Itachi; a new playable character (Kabuto in Sage mode in Free Play Mode off and online); revamped cutscenes; and 100 new missions. The standalone version runs $39.99, while owners of the original release can access the new content by purchasing a $9.99 upgrade pack on Live Marketplace and PSN.
Attendees at this year’s WonderCon in Anaheim will be able to attend panels on Tales of Xillia and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. Namco Bandai has announced that the Tales panel will be headed by producer Hideo Baba, while Hiroshi Matsuyama, CEO and President of CyberConnect2, will be at the Naruto panel. Both gentlemen will also be available throughout the weekend to meet fans and sign items at Namco Bandai’s booth (#1307). Full details are available below.
