Dark Souls for 360, PS3 expands with Artorias of the Abyss DLC
The extra content that was added to the Prepare to Die Edition of Dark Souls for PC, Artorias of the Abyss, has launched as DLC for 360 and PS3. The FromSoftware-developed expansion features a new quest that will see players setting out to battle the evils behind a darkness spreading from the forests of Oolacile, and a host of new content, including maps, bosses, enemies, weapons, and armor. The player vs. player component has also been improved, with gamers now able “to assemble battles against one another for all-out fights to the death.”

Street Fighter X Tekken now available in stores, online for PS Vita
Street Fighter X Tekken has launched for PS Vita. The handheld version of the fighter features 55 brawlers, a gallery mode, multiplayer via 3G or Wi-Fi, front and rear touchpad support, near functionality, Cross-Play support with the PS3 version, and the new skill-based Burst Kumite survival mode.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 in stores, ready to mix it up on 360, PS3
Tekken Tag Tournament 2, featuring none other than Snoop Dogg (?), has hit store shelves for 360 and PS3. The follow-up to the 2000 original sports the series’ largest roster to date, as well as a host of new features, such as the Fight Lab for learning the basics and more advanced combos, Pair Play for four-player action, and the ability to play solo against a single opponent or a tag team. Online play has also been augmented by the World Tekken Federation, a free service that tracks players’ stats and analyzes performance.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition launches online for PC
PC gamers finally get the chance to know a particular kind of pain today with the launch of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for PC. Available on Steam and Impulse, the new version of FromSoftware’s action-RPG includes an enhanced online player-versus-player mode, as well as new environments, maps, bosses, enemies, loot, and non-playable characters. And then there’s the biggie: a new chapter set in the kingdom of Oolacile, where players must fight off the darkness that is slowly destroying the land.

Street Fighter X Tekken PS3 to get DLC early, new PS Vita DLC
The Street Fighter X Tekken character DLC originally scheduled to launch with the PS Vita version this fall has been bumped up to July 31. The 1600 MS Point/$19.99 drop includes 12 characters, an even split with six for the Street Fighter roster and six for the Tekken: Blanka, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Guy, Sakura, Alisa Bosconovitch, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Jack-X, Lars Alexandersson, and Lei Wulong.

Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss DLC dated and detailed
Dark Souls isn’t done with you quite yet. Namco Bandai has announced additional details about the upcoming DLC pack for FromSoftware’s action-RPG, Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss. The expansion will include a new chapter that will host new maps, environments, bosses, enemies, and non-playable characters. In the new adventure, players must venture out into the forests of Oolacile to investigate the origins of a darkness that is engulfing the lands. The pack will also include an online versus mode, pitting players against each other in matches of one versus one, two versus two, and four versus four.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition heading to PC, hungry for tears
Dark Souls, the game that wants only for your pitiful cries for mercy, is heading to the PC. Namco Bandai announced that they will be publishing Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, an expanded version of FromSoftware’s crushing action-RPG. Set to launch on August 24, the Prepare to Die Edition will include an improved player-versus-player mode as well as a new chapter, Artorias of the Abyss, which will host new areas, enemies, and bosses.

Armored Core V deploys for 360, PS3
Armored Core returns with Namco Bandai and From Software’s Armored Core V for the 360 and PS3. The latest entry features 10-player, team-based multiplayer combat, 500-plus parts for mech customization, and a new focus on the importance of terrain. Single player is said to provide a “robust” experience with “a completely new atmosphere.”

Ridge Racer drifts it home onto store shelves, PSN
As goes with Sony consoles around launch, a new Ridge Racer, aptly titled Ridge Racer, is now available for the PS Vita. The latest entry supports online play, and includes access to an application offering an “interactive audio and video experience” so that fans can get a “unique taste of this bold and glimmering entry.” Gamers who pick the title up at launch will also receive a code for a free Gold Pass, which will allow them to download an upcoming DLC pack that is set to include five new vehicles, three new courses, two music tracks, and an extended music mix. Digital copies off of PSN will include the pass until April 30.
