Dark Souls II shield design contest announced, screens released
A new shield design contest has launched on Facebook for Dark Souls II. Gamers who want to see their work in-game can submit their shield designs between today and May 13 for the community to vote on. Voting will start on May 14 and end on May 20, and the entries with the most votes will be sent to FromSoftware for the final round of selection. The development team will choose six designs to appear in the game, and Namco Bandai will announce the winning artists at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.

Ridge Racer goes free to play with Ridge Racer Driftopia for PC, PS3
A new downloadable free-to-play entry in the Ridge Racer series was announced today by Namco Bandai, Ridge Racer Driftopia. Not much else was revealed, other than that Bugbear Entertainment, developer of last year’s Ridge Racer Unbounded, is heading up development and that the focus will be on “the series’ irresistible signature drifting”.

Tales of Xillia, Naruto Shippuden panels announced for WonderCon
Attendees at this year’s WonderCon in Anaheim will be able to attend panels on Tales of Xillia and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. Namco Bandai has announced that the Tales panel will be headed by producer Hideo Baba, while Hiroshi Matsuyama, CEO and President of CyberConnect2, will be at the Naruto panel. Both gentlemen will also be available throughout the weekend to meet fans and sign items at Namco Bandai’s booth (#1307). Full details are available below.

Armored Core: Verdict Day launching this summer for 360, PS3
FromSoftware will be returning to the world of giant army-crushing robots this summer with Armored Core: Verdict Day for 360 and PS3. Publisher Namco Bandai announced that players will battle alone or in squads of up to 20 friends for the remaining scraps in a resource-starved, war-torn world. In-game factions can also be hired to lend a hand for solo pilots as they battle for territories controlled by other players in a persistent multiplayer mode.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon: Enhanced Edition now available for PC
Ace Combat Assault Horizon: Enhanced Edition is now available for PC. The $34.99 set includes the base game as well as several DLC packs that add additional skins, skills, and maps, plus seven new aircraft. Multiplayer uses Games for Windows.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Live launch delayed, + DLC now on PSN
Namco Bandai has announced that the Live Games on Demand launch of Ace Combat Assault Horizon has been delayed until January. The push back from December 18 is being put down to strategic reasons, while the + DLC Pack edition for PS3 has launched on PSN and Enhanced Edition for PC is on track for its Q1 2013 release.

Dark Souls II announced for consoles and PC, trailer released
Namco Bandai will be bringing some more of that unique FromSoftware-style pain with Dark Souls II for 360, PC, and PS3. The upcoming action-adventure release will feature a new hero and story, as well as the return of multiplayer and the series’ traditional level of punishing difficulty.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Games on Demand, PSN, Steam bound
Namco Bandai has announced that Ace Combat Assault Horizon will launch as three different packages on Live Games on Demand and PSN on December 18, and in early 2013 for PC. The standard version is already available for $19.99 on PSN, while the upcoming release will be the $29.99 + DLC Pack edition that includes adds six new aircraft and two maps. Live Games on Demand will only offer the standard edition, while Steam will only offer the $34.99 Enhanced Edition for PC. Additionally, a new patch will be available for the 360 and PS3 versions today to fix multiplayer exploits and address minor gameplay and balance issues. It was also announced that the Game Integrated Web Site will end service.

Mamma mia! New Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition screens
Namco Bandai has released a new batch of screenshots for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition. The shots show off the character customization system, which looks to be capable of whipping up a decent Mario and Luigi, thanks to the inclusion of special Nintendo-themed costumes, Snoop Lion track suits (bizarre), and Tekken Ball.
