Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has turned three years old, and to celebrate, Mojang is giving away three free skin packs. The downloads will be available from today until May 17 for all 20 million players on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Two of the packs were already available for the Xbox 360 but are making their Xbox One debut, the 1st Skin Pack and 2nd Birthday Skin Pack, while the Mojangstas pack is new to both versions.

Mojang releases new skins, music for Minecraft

Minecraft has received a handful of new additions, from skins to music. One of the new skins, free for all versions, is Alex, who sports red hair and a ponytail. Xbox 360 owners received some extras today, including 30 new Achievements and new music tracks. PlayStation gamers aren’t being left out and will be getting The Simpsons later this week, a set which will come with Homer and company, along with Principal Seymour Skinner, Groundskeeper Willie, and others.

Minecraft – Live Arcade trailer, screens revealed at MineCon

The Xbox 360 Live Arcade version of Minecraft was debuted today at MineCon, the only Mojang-sanctioned convention for the popular world-builder. Over 5,000 players have gathered to enjoy a weekend of creepers and crafting, and the first round of media from the show has been released. While not quite as nice as the attendees’ hands-on time, I think a batch of screenshots and a trailer isn’t too bad of a way to kick off the weekend.
