Last week, Bandai Namco announced that they will be bringing over Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment as a download-only release later this summer. Today, they’ve followed up the reveal with news that they will also be including an HD port of its PSP predecessor, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment. As with Hollow Fragment, Infinity Moment is an MMO-esque role-playing game that has players venturing around an expansive world, accepting quests, and battling creatures in real time.

The Elder Scrolls Online goes live for Mac, Windows PC

Bethesda has taken The Elder Scrolls into a mysterious new realm today: the Internet. The release of The Elder Scrolls Online heralds the series’ entry into the online world, allowing Mac and PC gamers to adventure around Tamriel as they take on quests for the Empire and battle one another in player-versus-player combat. After all these years, you finally have the chance to answer the question of what it would be like if Daggerfall, Oblivion, and Skyrim were multiplayer.

Shadowrun Online now available on Steam Early Access

Shadowrun Online has launched on Steam Early Access with a prequel storyline to the final version’s main campaign. The turn-based MMO is set in a dystopian future, where gangs and Megacorp mercenaries roam the streets of Boston. Gamers will be able to try out the class-free character-creation system as they take their tech-savvy magician, gun-crazy pyro, or other bizarre hybrid Shadowrunner on four missions and against others in player-versus-player combat. Content will be added as development progresses, and players who take part during the Early Access period will have their feedback taken into consideration when features are added or tweaked.

EverQuest Next Landmark alpha launching tonight for early adopters

According to SOE, EverQuest Next Landmark will enter alpha testing sometime this evening. Players who purchased the Founder’s Pack at Explorer or Trailblazer level will be able to sign on later today and join developers in testing and refining the game’s mechanics. The group’s input will be used as work progresses to the final release, according to franchise director of development Dave Georgeson: “For the first time, our players can join alongside us as part of the development team. They will have a significant voice in how the final game takes shape.”

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PS4 beta, release dates revealed

Square Enix has released some new details regarding the PS4 version of their MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. First off, the game will be available in stores on April 14, the same day when “official service” begins. For those looking to preorder, beginning today, money can be put down on a Standard Edition or a Collector’s Edition, which will also include two in-game items (a Mog Cap and a Cait Sith Doll minion) and Early Access on April 11. The Collector’s Edition will be packed with an art book, a music CD, art cards, a themed security token, and a few exclusive in-game items. Additionally, existing players who have registered FFXIV Collector’s Edition, FFXIV: A Realm Reborn Collector’s Edition, or digitally upgraded will receive two new in-game items (Fat Chocobo Mount and Wind-up Moogle minion).

The Elder Scrolls Online voice cast revealed, interviewed

Bethesda is looking to bring a bit of Hollywood to Tamriel. The studio has released a video detailed the lineup of actors who are lending their voices to the upcoming MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. Some of the cast includes John Cleese as the mad lost soul Cadwell, Bill Nighy as High King Emeric, Kate Beckinsale as Queen Ayrenn, and Malcolm McDowell as the Daedric god Molag Bal. The 17-minute video shows the in-studio recording process and features interviews with the cast, with an excellent performance by Cleese kicking things off.

The Elder Scrolls Online to launch in April for PC, June for consoles

The Mac and Windows PC version of The Elder Scrolls Online will go live on April 4, according to Bethesda, with the console versions following in June. To celebrate the final launch date, a new gameplay trailer has been released, titled War in Cyrodiil. The footage showcases the player-versus-player system that will pit hundreds of gamers against one another in a battle for the Ruby Throne, and features close- and long-range combat, magic, and siege warfare. Game director Matt Frior also talks a bit more about the game over at the ElderScrollsOnline.com.

Square Enix resumes digital sales of Final Fantasy XIV

After halting digital sales of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn due to “unprecedented demand at launch,” Square Enix has announced that sales have now resumed. Since the suspension on August 28, the studio has increased the number of and “performed extensive maintenance” on the game servers. The improvements now allow for a greater number of players, as well as an increase in the maximum limit of users capable of playing at the same time per World.

Square Enix has released new details about character migration and an upcoming beta for the PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The studio has plans to launch a beta for the next-gen version on February 22. Also, for those who are currently playing the PS3 version, a character-transfer program has been announced that will allow you to bring your character over to the PS4 version for free. Additional details about the program are not known, however, but will be released at a later date.
