Tom Clancy’s The Division announced for PC

Gamescom has brought some welcomed news for PC gamers who have been eying Massive’s upcoming open-world persistent single- and multiplayer action title Tom Clancy’s The Division. Ubisoft has announced that the previously console-only release, revealed earlier this summer at E3, will be available for PC next year. Gamers who have enjoyed Massive’s previous work, such as Farcry 3 and World in Conflict, will find the studio well suited to the platform.

Square Enix celebrating Final Fantasy XI’s 11 years with free gifts

Final Fantasy XI turned 11 earlier this summer, and Square Enix is celebrating with six gifts, including three free expansions. The three add-ons are being offered for free for a limited time, from August 8 to October 11: Vision of Abyssea, Scars of Abyssea, and Heroes of Abyssea. The Abyssea trilogy requires that players have the Rise of the Zilart and Wings of the Goddess expansions installed and registered, as well as one level-30 job. The other five gifts, detailed below, include free cruor, 11 of the most popular atma, and an increase in initial Traverser stone stocks.

SOE’s DC Universe Online, PlanetSide 2 in development for PS4

Sony Online has announced that they will be bringing two of their biggest MMOs to the PS4, DC Universe Online and PlanetSide 2. As with the other versions, both will be free-to-play with optional in-game purchases. After months of stress testing, CCP Games’ free-to-play MMOFPS Dust 154 has transitioned from open beta to final release. The PS3 exclusive links ground-based warfare with the space-based combat of its PC MMORPG counterpart Eve Online to form a fully integrated multi-system universe known as New Eden. CCP plans to release its first update in June, followed by several “major releases” throughout the rest of the year.

?CCP Games’ upcoming massively multiplayer shooter Dust 514 is nearing completion and will be going live on May 14. The developer announced that the free-to-play PS3 exclusive will be fully integrated with New Eden, the universe of Eve Online, when it launches on PSN. As console gamers pound the ground to complete objectives and whittle away their rivals’ numbers, Eve Online players will be orbiting above, dealing with the consequences of each battle in the shared persistent universe. PC gamers will be able to lend their support in the form of helping with coordination and bombarding targets.

Dust 514 development continues to roll along, and developer CCP Games has announced a new milestone for the massively multiplayer first-person shooter, Uprising. The hefty update coincides with the tenth anniversary of Eve Online’s launch, and brings the PC MMO and the free-to-play PS3 exclusive closer to complete integration. Not only will Uprising bring the universes closer together, but it will also improve the visuals, streamline the interface, incorporate planetary conquests, and add new battlegrounds, modes, gear, and weapons.

WoW: Mists of Pandaria – The Thunder King trailer released

Blizzard has released a new trailer for the upcoming 5.2 content update for Mists of Pandaria, The Thunder King. Emperor Lei Shen, the titular Thunder King, has returned to Pandaria with some Zandalari allies and is out for revenge. Players will be able to stop him once and for all in the new Throne of Thunder raid, which is just one of the many new additions being added with the 5.2 update.

CCP Games’ PS3-exclusive massively multiplayer shooter Dust 514 has entered open beta. A recent update has merged the universes of Dust 514 and Eve Online so that players from each will experience the games as a whole, with PC players battling in orbit around the planets that PS3 gamers are fighting to control. As an example of the faction dynamics and interplay involved, the header imagine and initial screenshots show an orbital strike called in from a Dust 514 player and the resulting bombardment courtesy of an Eve Online player.
