Bethesda has released a first look at the Morrowind expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online. The gameplay video introduces players to a new storyline that will see them returning to the fan-favorite realm to prevent the end of the world. The trailer, along with some new screenshots, show off the reimagined Vvardenfell Island along with some of the new armor, enemies, and weapons.

Console versions of The Elder Scrolls Online get Homestead update

The console version of The Elder Scrolls Online has been updated with the latest Homestead update. PS4 and Xbox One owners can now buy apartments, homes, manors, and an island with the free download. There are nearly 40 instanced homes to choose from that are styled after the 10 playable races. An initial home can be acquired for free by completing a tutorial quest, while the rest can be purchased with in-game Gold and through the Crown Store. Abodes are shared between all of the player’s characters, and they can be adorned with up to 2,000 items.

The Elder Scrolls Online now has homes, manors, more for PC players

Players can now set down roots in Tamriel with a new update for The Elder Scrolls Online. Beginning today, PC gamers can buy apartments, homes, manors, and an island for gold or through the Crown Store. Around 40 instances homes are on offer, designed around the 10 races. A free starter home is also on offer for those who complete a tutorial. Over 2,000 decorative items have been added, including barrels, beds, books, chests, crafting tables, paintings, and plants. Crafting skills can also be used to create some handmade items. Console owners will be able to get a place of their own on February 21.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind detailed, announced for June

Bethesda is set to add the island of Vvardenfell to The Elder Scrolls Online with the Morrowind expansion. Slated to go live on June 6, the add-on will feature several additions, including Vvardenfell, which is said to be the largest zone yet added and feature the same points of interest from Elder Scrolls III. The story is set 700 years prior to the game, however, with players fighting to save the famous warrior-poet and Guardian of Vvardenfell, Vivec. Players can also access the nature-magic-based Warden, who fights alongside a War Bear, the first new class since launch. Other additions include a new Trial and PvP mode for three four-player teams. New players can head straight to the content without any experience, while returning players will content appropriate for whatever level they might be at the time of their arrival to the island.

The Elder Scrolls Online begins seasonal event The New Life Festival

The Elder Scrolls Online begins its year-end celebration today. The New Life Festival is being held throughout Tamriel, offering Double Experience mead and limited-time quests that reward successful adventurers with special items. The event will end at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4. To take part, players will need to meet Breda near Windhelm to initiate her quest, The New Life Festival. Afterwards, they will be able to work through up to nine daily quests, located throughout the various zones and themed for the different races.

The Elder Scrolls Online – Orsinium turns 1 with discounts, events

Bethesda is celebrating the anniversary of Elder Scrolls Online’s second downloadable pack, Orsinium. For new buyers, the studio has dropped the price for the add-on by 75% down to 750 crowns ($6.25), while the Collector’s Bundle is 60% off, adding a Cave Bear mount, a Cave Bear pet, and five crown experience scrolls. Current players can earn double loot and rewards from world bosses, daily delves, and the Maelstrom Arena. Resource nodes in Orsinium will also net double the amount of materials. The drop adds a new zone, a single-player monster arena, public dungeons, and an estimated 20-plus hours of story content focused on the Orcs.

The Elder Scrolls Online kicks off The Witches Festival

The Elder Scrolls Online is getting into the season today with the commencement of The Witches Festival. Conjurors, demonologists, and other nefarious sorts will meet in secret throughout Tamriel from now until the end of the month. Through their magical incantations, players will be able to turn themselves and others in their group into the Undead, earn event achievements, gain a 100% experience boost, and score themed loot, including exclusive masks. To join, players will need to get the free Crow Caller from the Crown Store, then blow it to engage The Witchmother’s Bargain, a quest that will reward the Witchmother’s Whistle. Using the whistle will summon a cauldron that morphs players into the undead for two hours, during which time, they will be able to gain Festival loot by killing bosses for Plunder Skulls.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition released for console, PC

Bethesda has released The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The bundle includes the main game and all four major downloadable packs. The full set allows players to take on new quests in Skyrim, Daggerfall, Cyrodiil, Imperial City, and the Gold Coast. The packs also add the Thieves Guild as well as the Dark Brotherhood. Current players can downloadable all of the packs in a new downloadable set, Guilds and Glory, for 5,500 Crowns.

Elder Scrolls Online to receive PS4 Pro support patch, 4K trailer up

Bethesda has announced that The Elder Scrolls Online will support PS4 Pro. It will be one of the first titles to take advantage of the new hardware, via a free update. To show off the updated visuals, the studio has released a gameplay trailer showing the game running in 4K on the new system. Note that the trailer requires a 4K monitor to view in all its glory.

Update adds dungeons, more to PC version of Elder Scrolls Online

Update 11 has gone live for the Mac and Windows PC version of The Elder Scrolls Online. The download adds two new Argonian-themed four-player dungeons plus a slew of customization options via the Style Parlor. Through the parlor, players will be able to change their appearance, name, and race, as well as dye their costume and access “a large selection of cosmetic and quality of life additions.” Console players will be able to download Update 11 on August 16 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which, in addition to the PC update, will also introduce text chat. The Shadows of the Hist two-dungeon pack is available for 1,500 Crowns, while appearance and race-change tokens are 1,000 Crowns each and the name-change tokens are 2,500 Crowns each.
