New video series launches for Fable: The Journey, demo announced
The first of several planned video documentaries for Lionhead’s upcoming Fable: The Journey has been released. Set to launch October 9, The Journey is a Kinect-enabled adventure featuring a young Dweller named Gabriel, and his quest to free Albion from the spreading Corruption. Despite The Journey taking place 50 years after Fable III, Theresa returns for her fourth outing as she assists Gabriel on his quest.

Halo 4 Map Pack pass, Limited Edition’s digitial extras detailed
Microsoft has revealed additional info about some Halo 4 Limited Edition’s digital extras, as well as a new Map Pack pass. While gamers who pick up the standard release will initially only have access to two of the eight Specializations (Wetwork and Pioneer), upgrade paths that unlock armor mods, emblems, and other customization items in War Games and Spartan Ops at level 50, gamers who pick up the $99.99 Limited Edition will have early access to all eight. The premium version also includes access to nine post-launch maps; a 90-minute version of the live-action Forward Unto Dawn series, along with behind-the-scenes footage; a UNSC Infinity Briefing Packet with armor customization schematics, blueprint of the Infinity, and other info; and six downloadable customization items, detailed below.

Microsoft announces console bundle, wireless controller for Halo 4
Microsoft revealed a new Halo 4-themed Xbox 360 bundle and new wireless controller at Comic-Con. The Limited Edition ‘Halo 4′ bundle will hit store shelves on November 6 and include a custom system, standard copy of the game, wired headset, built-in Wi-Fi, Live tokens for exclusive in-game and avatar marketplace content, two themed controllers, and a 320GB hard drive. The front-panel green lights will also be blue, fitting with the game’s color scheme. The controller will sport a United Nations Space Command theme, with the UNSC’s emblem on a translucent body, and a glowing blue Xbox button. An Avatar T-Shirt will also be included.

Gears of War: Judgment dated and detailed, Gears 3 drops to $30
People Can Fly, the studio behind Painkiller and the ridiculously fun Bulletstorm, is getting their turn at the Gears of War franchise next year with the Epic Games co-developed Gears of War: Judgment. Microsoft has announced that the prequel, set shortly after Emergence Day but before the original Gears, will launch on March 19. In addition to new enemies, locations, and weapons, Judgement will include a new class-based, Horde and Beast hybrid multiplayer mode called OverRun.

Free DLC launches for Forza 4, 2013 SRT Viper Pack
The free 2013 SRT Viper Pack DLC drop has launched for Forza 4. In addition to a drivable SRT Viper, the pack also includes exterior and cockpit views as well as “a brand new Autovista experience that showcases the car’s incredible features and details the model’s production history.”

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare launches for PC
Remedy’s Alan Wake spinoff, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, is now available for PC. Set in an alternate world based on the fictional Night Springs TV show, Wake finds himself facing off against an evil doppelganger named Mr. Scratch for the life of his wife, Alice. American Nightmare also includes a Horde-style arcade mode, Fight till Dawn, which pits Wake against increasingly difficult waves of enemies that he must hold off until the sun rises. In addition, the PC version features higher resolutions, sharper textures, support for 3D and multiple monitors, and the new Nightmare difficulty mode.

Halo 4 to get Limited Edition, Infinity Multiplayer detailed
Microsoft released a flurry of Halo 4 information today. The 343 Industries-developed entry will launch on November 6 in a standard edition as well as a Limited Edition. The decked-out premium version, detailed below, was announced alongside details about the expanded multiplayer component, now known as Halo Infinity Multiplayer.

Fables Heroes wallops its way onto Live Arcade
The XBLA exclusive Fable Heroes is now available on Live for 800 MS Points. The hack-and-slash arcade adventure allows for up to four players to team together or compete in a quest for coins and glory. Experience in combat not only rewards with better weapons but also new features, power-ups, and moves, including finishers. The game also hosts a number of minigames with leaderboard support.

Halo 4 coming this November
Microsoft has revealed November 6, 2012 as the official release date for Halo 4. 343 Industries’ follow-up to Halo: Reach will be a direct sequel to and set four years after Halo 3. Phil Spencer of Microsoft stated that Halo 4 marks the first entry in a new trilogy “that will encompass the next decade of ‘Halo’ games and experiences.”
