Halo: Spartan Assault deploying tomorrow on Live for 360

Microsoft announced that they will be releasing Halo: Spartan Assault for 360 tomorrow. Gamers who purchased the Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8 version before December 15 will be able to download the game for $4.99, while new players will be able to purchase the title for $14.99. The 360 version will feature over 30 missions, including the Operation Hydra expansion, and online co-op play (not supported with Xbox One multiplayer). Spartan Assault, set between Halo 3 and 4, is a top-down shooter that tasks players with battling the Covenant as part of the newly formed Spartan Ops program.

Dead Rising 3: Operation Broken Eagle DLC delayed until January

Operation Broken Eagle, Dead Rising 3’s first downloadable episode, has been delayed until 2014. Originally scheduled to launch on December 24, players will now have to wait until January 21 to save the President from the undead hordes. According to the release, the decision to push back the launch date was “to ensure we provide the best possible experience for players” by “putting a few additional weeks of polish and testing into the episode before it’s released.”

Free and for-pay DLC now available for Ryse: Son of Rome

Crytek’s Roman-themed action title Ryse has received two DLC packs today, one free and the other for pay. The bonus download is for two new level events for Gladiator Mode, one featuring a random turret that will need to be destroyed and another cause single-use, stat-boosting Reward Statues to appear. The for-pay drop, the Colosseum Pack, includes two new character skins (Commodus and Centurion) and two new arenas (Henge and Ascension) for $3.99. Check below for shots of the new stages and armor.

Dead Rising 3 will be receiving its inaugural DLC pack on December 24, the first part of the Untold Stories of Los Perdidos. As special ops commander Adam Kane, players will seek out the missing President in the five-mission Operation Broken Eagle. The drop will also include five new weapons, a new combo weapon, a new vehicle, and a new outfit. Any experienced earned will also transfer back to the original campaign. And for gamers who haven’t tried Dead Rising 3, a 20-minute timed demo is now available on Live.

Fable is turning 10 years old. Wait … it’s almost a decade old? Suddenly my back and knees hurt…I feel…so old. On the upside, developer Lionhead Studios has dusted off the original and been giving it a new coat of paint, retooling the interface, adding SmartGlass integration, and packing in The Lost Chapters. MS revealed today that development has almost wrapped and that Fable Anniversary will be available for 360 on February 4. Additionally, Lionhead will also be giving away a special Head Avatar Helmet celebrating the anniversary and exclusive DLC for first-run buyers: a 5×5 code for the Launch Day Weapons & Outfits Pack. The drop, detailed below, includes five outfits and two weapons.

New Quantum Break gameplay trailer details story, combat system

A new trailer has gone up for Alan Wake and Max Payne creator Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming Xbox One action title Quantum Break. The latest footage, revealed during the weekend at VGX 2013, features snippets of the game’s cover-based shooting and time-manipulating gameplay. Creative director Sam Lake also discusses how players will get to play as two heroes, Jack Joyce and Beth Wilder, in a time-bending battle against the villainous mogul Paul Serene.

Turn 10 Studios addresses player complaints regarding Forza 5

Forza developer Turn 10 Studios has responded to some of the complaints regarding the price of cars and tokens, including the inability of Limited Edition owners to purchase any vehicle in the game, which was supposed to be part of the package, and the low credit payouts. Community manager Brian Ekberg has announced the studio’s plans to address the issues, such as offering a 50 percent credit and token discount, free cars, and additional compensation for those affected. Dead Rising 3 splatters zombie mess onto store shelves for Xbox One

Launching today alongside the Xbox One is Capcom’s latest zombie slasher (and basher and drive-over-er) Dead Rising 3. The One exclusive features an open world filled with the undead that players must navigate as Nick Ramos, who must battle enemies amongst the living and the dead as he navigates Los Perdidos alongside fellow survivors. Players will once again be able to use anything not nailed down as a weapon, craft new gear and more powerful arsenals, and hop into abandoned vehicles to get about the packed streets.
