Microsoft has announced the post-launch support Turn 10 has in store for Forza Motorsport 5. A total of six 10-car packs are scheduled for release, with the first pack launching on November 22, and the rest following on a monthly basic from January through May. The first out the gate, the LaFerrari Car Pack, will launch alongside the Xbox One and include the rare titular hypercar. More info on the remaining cars in the inaugural pack will be revealed on November 18.

Microsoft has detailed the Season Pass for Crytek’s Ryse: Son of Rome. The pass will include four downloadable packs for $19.99, which represents a savings of 25 percent over individual purchases. In total, the drops will add 14 multiplayer maps, six player skins, access to a new tier of weapons and armor, new level events, and a new mode. The pass also comes with an extra attribute-boosting weapon set that includes a sword and shield.

Dead Rising 3 weapon, outfit trailer released, Season Pass detailed

Just in time for Halloween, Capcom has released a new trailer for Dead Rising 3. The upcoming open-world zombie-slayer will be released on November 22, and to make sure gamers are prepared to take down the hordes—in style, at that—the trailer showcases some of the many equippable weapons and costumes. Details about the Season Pass were also released, which will go live on November 22 for $29.99 and include access to all four $9.99 game packs: Operation Broken Eagle, Fallen Angel, Chaos Rising, and The Last Agent.

New Ryse: Son of Rome story trailers, screenshots released

Microsoft Game Studios has two new trailers for Crytek’s upcoming action title Ryse: Son of Rome. One of the videos gives a two-minute overview of the main character, Roman legionnaire Marius Titus, who is on a quest of revenge against the barbarians who killed his family. The other details the story behind a special weapon gifted to Titus by his father, the Damocles dagger, which is said to come from a centurion who returned from Hades to take vengeance on the corrupt generals that left him to die. Damocles’ tale is especially eye-catching.

Microsoft has released a new free-to-play action-RPG for 360, Signal Studios’ Ascend: Hand of Kul. As creations and servants of the gods, players control the massive mighty warriors known as Caos to do battle against the immortal Titans. Not a good spot to find oneself in. But in addition to battling the Titans, players must also defend against attacks from other players to establish themselves in the wider battle that takes place on multiple planes. Caos troops can interfere in the worlds of their rivals with Crusade Spells, and even sacrifice themselves to create a new, stronger character.

Ryse: Son of Rome combat detailed in new video documentary entry

Crytek has released a new video in their documentary series covering the development of their upcoming Xbox One action title Ryse: Son of Rome. The latest entry focuses on combat, including a look at the Roman combat expert that was consulted and the motion-capture technology used to bring Marius to life. The six-minute entry also features interviews with several team members, including gameplay director Patrick Esteves, senior producer Brian Chambers, and animator Joseph Garrahan.

Turn 10 Studios is preparing for the Xbox One launch with two special editions of Forza Motorsport 5, the Limited Edition and the Day One Edition. Both versions are available for pre-order, with the Limited Edition coming with the Limited Edition Car Pack, which includes five rides, VIP Membership for more rewards and events (plus an exclusive five-car VIP pack), and the Day One Car Pack. The Day One Edition, a special pre-order and launch release of the standard version, includes the three-car Day One Car Pack as well as themed packaging that matches the console’s design. Microsoft has revealed a number of changes to their previously announced policies in regards to Xbox One. The full statement, available below, addresses a number of issues brought up since the console’s official unveiling. Policy changes include support for used games, as there will no longer be any limitations on trading, sharing, or selling purchased titles; the system will not be region locked; and there will no longer be a daily online check-in system but a one-time activation that will take place during the initial system setup. Downloaded games, however, cannot be shared or resold, though no specific reason was given as to why it is no longer an option, and discs will need to be in the console in order for gamers to play retail copies.

Open-wheel cars to debut in Forza Motorsport 5, screens released

Open-wheel cars will be making their Forza debut in Forza Motorsport 5, according to developer Turn 10 Studios. The new additions include cars from current and past grand prixs as well as Formula 1. Some of the announced rides include the 1976 McLaren M23, the 1976 Ferrari 312-2, and a selection representing four of the Izod IndyCar Series’ top teams (Andretti Autosport, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Target Chip Ganassi Racing, and Team Penske).
