The Coalition’s latest entry in the Gears of War series has launched for console and PC. The fourth release kicks off a new storyline, set decades after Gears of War 3. Players will reunite with old favorites as they lead a younger cast of fighters against a new threat. Horde mode also returns with Horde 3.0. As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, console and PC players are capable of playing against and with one another across all modes, including versus multiplayer in private matches. Both versions are included with a single purchase.

Gears of War 4 now playable for owners of Ultimate Edition

Players who purchased Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition can now being their four-day head start on the campaign. Ultimate Edition also comes with the Season Pass. The pass includes Vintage JD and two Vintage weapon skins, a Developer Playlist that includes new maps and modes before official release, a 17-pack Starter Airdrop with weapons and skins, and access to all 24 downloadable maps as they become available for private play on dedicated servers.

Four-hour Gears of War 4 livestream archived, gameplay and reveals

Gears of War fans who missed the recent livestream for Gears of War 4 can check out a recently uploaded archive. In addition to plenty of gameplay, the four-hour-long event also features the reveal of an upcoming film with Universal Studios and Bluegrass Films, the debut of Killer Mike and EI-P as in-game characters, a behind-the-scenes look at an art exhibit, and some fans in cosplay.

Two tracks by Gordy Haab, Finishing Move released from Halo Wars 2

343 Industries has revealed that Gordy Haab and Finishing Move will be contributing new tracks to Halo Wars 2. Haab has worked on several titles, including Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: The Old Republic, while Finishing Move’s work has appeared in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Two of tunes, “Run, Little Demons” and “Isabel’s Awakening,” have been released on Soundcloud. ReCore demo goes live, offers up the game’s first 30 minutes

A trial has been released for Armature and comcept’s action title ReCore. The demo is available for Windows PC and Xbox One, allowing players to try the first 30 minutes of the game. Players get to meet Joule and her Corebot, Mack, as well as explore a portion of Far Eden. Any progress made in the demo, including Achievements, carries over to the full version.

Forza Horizon 3 gets seven new rides with The Smoking Tire Car Pack

Forza Horizon 3’s first monthly downloadable pack is now on Live, The Smoking Tire Car Pack. The $7 drop includes seven rides ranging from high-end exotics to rugged off-roaders: the 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan, 2000 Lotus 340R, 2016 Pagani Huayra BC, 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, 2016 GTA Spano, 2016 BMW M2 Coupé, and the 1976 Jeep CJ5 Renegade. Details for each can be found further down. A patch has also been released for both versions addressing a variety of tweaks, including added steering wheel sensitivity, bug fixes, controller hot swapping, and improved stability.

Twenty minutes of gameplay released from Gears of War 4

Gamers looking forward to Gears of War 4 are getting the chance to check out the prologue today. Microsoft has released the first 20 minutes, with gameplay that details the 30 years of events that set the game’s main campaign in motion, from the Pendulum Wars to Emergence Day. They also sent word about Gears of War 4: Live, a livestream that will be broadcast at 5 p.m. (CST) on October 5 on Beam, Xbox.com (along on the 360 and One), Youtube, Twitch, and Facebook. Paul Scheer will host a panel including Larry Hryb and several Internet personalities, and feature interviews with studio head Rod Fergusson.

Australia calls! Forza Horizon 3 released for PC, Xbox One

Forza Horizon 3 is bringing open-world racing back to Xbox One today, and introducing the Horizon line to PC. Players take on the role of the boss behind the Horizon Festival, and their job of drawing in crowds by earning fans, adding events, and expanding showcases. Hundreds of vehicles are available to purchase as players take to city streets, scenic forested routes, and off-road paths. Up to four drivers can join together in co-op, tackling the campaign together, while up to 12 can participate in free-roaming or structures online play. As an Xbox Play Anywhere, both versions feature support for cross-save and cross-buy.
