Gears Pro Circuit MLG Columbus Open prize pool now $300,000

Microsoft and The Coalition have sent word that the Gears Pro Circuit MLG Columbus Open’s winnings has been increased by $50,000. The bump is being attributed to “the overwhelming support of our player community and sales of Gears of War 4 eSports Supporter Packs.” The additional cash has pushed the prize pool up to $300,000. Gamers can try their hand at the Open LAN event by going to the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, on November 25. Everything kicks off at 4 p.m. (CST), and will run until the 27th. This is the first open event of the Gears Pro Circuit, and can be watched at the official site, with subsequent open events are set to take place in Paris, London, Mexico City, and Las Vegas. Forza Horizon 3 – Alpinestars Car Pack launches, expansion teased

A new set of rides has been added to Forza Horizon 3 with the release of Alpinestars Car Pack. The $6.99 drop adds seven vehicles: the 2017 Acura NSX, 1998 Nissan Silvia K, 1990 Mazda Savannah RX-7, 1967 Ford Falcon XR GT, 2016 Dodge Viper ACR, 2016 BMW M4 GTS, and the 1979 Talbot Lotus Sunbeam. A glimpse at the game’s first expansion, which looks to sport a seasonally appropriate winter theme, was also released and has been posted below the latest pack’s trailer and screens.

Forza Racing Championship – Season 2 detailed, kicks off in Horizon

Turn 10 Studios has opened registration for Season 2 of the Forza Racing Championship. Racers can head to the ESL website to sign up for their spot. The upcoming series is sponsored by Michelin, Logitech G, and Playseat, with cash and prizes of over $150,000. The second season also marks the first time that two Forza games will be involved, Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 6. Players can join two different leagues, Elite Series and Recreation Series. The Elite Series will take place over three weeks beginning November 13, and award the top Forza Motorsport 6 racer $10,000 in cash. The Grand Finals will be streamed on the official Forza Twitch and Beam channels on Sunday, December 11. Beginning today, the Recreation Series begins in Forza Horizon 3 and will run for the next seven weeks, with players tackling the special ForzaRC Rivals events. Players can win exclusive cars just for participating, including the 2017 Ford GT Horizon Edition.

Gears of War 4 to get two multiplayer maps on November 1

The Coalition will be boosting Gears of War 4’s map roster by two with the release of Checkout and Drydock. Playable in Versus and Horde, the legacy maps, detailed below, will be available first for Season Pass holders on November 1 as part of the Developer Playlist, and then on November 8 for everyone else. The drop begins the first month of several free map updates, with two scheduled to be released each month thereafter.

Gears of War 4 now available for Windows 10 PC, Xbox One

The Coalition’s latest entry in the Gears of War series has launched for console and PC. The fourth release kicks off a new storyline, set decades after Gears of War 3. Players will reunite with old favorites as they lead a younger cast of fighters against a new threat. Horde mode also returns with Horde 3.0. As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, console and PC players are capable of playing against and with one another across all modes, including versus multiplayer in private matches.
