Insomniac Games has added new challenges to their open-world action-platformer shooter Sunset Overdrive. The three new Buck National challenges involve clearing 600,000 in Buck’s National vs The Apocalypse, 564,500 in Buck’s Strikes Back, and 703,700 in Buck’s Stops Here. Each challenge also has an accompanying new Achievement. For those looking to pick it up, Microsoft announced that they are currently running a promo for Sunset Overdrive, knocking the price down 40% on the Xbox Game Store.

Forza Motorsport 6 announced at NAIAS 2014

Microsoft used this year’s North American International Auto Show to reveal that Turn 10 Studios is working on Forza Motorsport 6. A partnership with Ford was also announced, which will see Ford’s new performance line added to the series as well as its Ford GT supercar as the centerpiece of the cover art. The other vehicles in the line will be making their gaming debut in Forza 6, including the Shelby GT350 Mustang and F-150 Raptor.

A new car pack has gone live for Forza Horizon 2, the six-ride G-Shock Car Pack. The $5 set includes the 2015 Nissan IDx Nismo, 1980 Subaru BRAT GL, 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Shelby, 1975 Ford Bronco, 1953 Ferrari 500 Mondial, and the 2010 Mazda Mazdaspeed 3. Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta begins, limited editions detailed

343 Industries has announced the beginning of the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta. The beta pits two four-player teams against one another in arena-based combat across seven maps and three game types. Access to the beta is restricted to owners of The Master Chief Collection, and will end on January 19. For those who do participate, any content unlocked for Nightfall and The Master Chief Collection will be carried over into the retail version of Guardians. Coinciding with the beta’s launch is the reveal of three premium editions that have gone up for pre-order: Standard Edition ($59.99), Limited Edition ($99.99), and Limited Collector’s Edition ($249.99). A new expansion pack has launched for Sunset Overdrive. The $9.99 add-on, The Mystery of the Mooil Rig, features a host of new content: story missions, side quests, challenges, Chaos Squad missions, two amps, two vanity items, and two weapons. Plus, there is also a new trap, boss, and Night Defense base mission. But the most significant addition is the expansion of the player’s water-based move list, which now includes diving and jumping, as several of the latest missions take place not just above but also below water.

343 Industries has rolled out the first in a new behind-the-scenes series detailing their work on the multiplayer beta of Halo 5: Guardians. The beta is scheduled to launch this month for owners of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and the new six-part series, The Sprint – Making Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta, will follow the developers and development stages as the beta takes shape. The first episode, titled Balance, premiers today at 6 p.m. (CST) on the Halo Channel, Windows 8.1, and Xbox One. A new episode will air each day until the beta launches on December 29. Forza Horizon 2 – Storm Island now live, adds 5 rides, 90 events, more

The Storm Island digital expansion pack has hit Live for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2. The $20 add-on includes a new area, Storm Island, which is home to 90 new events, five new event types, fog, and tropical storms. Other new content includes a Car Meet, Rivals events, Bucket List challenges, speed traps, speed zone leaderboards, upgrades (off-road suspension, tire, and transmission), and rally-inspired body kits for specific cars. For multiplayer-specific additions, there are 20 unique race routes, six Gauntlet events, three Showdown events, five online championship event types, and four Playground arenas.
