Forza Motorsport 6 goes gold, new screens, final car list released

Turn 10 has announced that Forza Motorsport 6 has gone gold. The game is set to go live in two weeks for Ultimate Edition owners, and five days later for everyone else. An official demo is slated to hit Live even earlier, on September 1. Gamers who do grab the demo will find a free ride in their digital garage, the new Ford GT. The remaining 460 release cars were revealed today along with a few new screenshots, posted below, while the full list can be found here.

Microsoft has reached into their vaults for the latest trailer for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Fans of the original might recall a memorable TV spot featuring the song Mad World, and in a fitting nod to the 2006 version, Mad World returns for Ultimate Edition’s launch trailer. And as a reminder, all save files, add-ons, and achievements will carry over to Ultimate Edition, which will also support several Xbox One features, including screenshots, Snap, and DVR.

With Forza Motorsport 6’s release dating nearing, September 10 for the Ultimate Edition and September 15 for the regular version, Turn 10 has released the full list of Achievements alongside their weekly list of car reveals. Because we love lists, all 57 Achievements and 30-plus rides are posted below. Some of the highlights from the garage additions include the 2014 BAC Mono, 2015 Ford #17 Xbox Racing Ford Falcon FG X, 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona HEMI, and 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator, all of which are detailed with background and performance info.

Rare Replay is now available for Xbox One. The $30 30-title collection spans decades of Rare’s work, beginning with 1983’s Lunar Jetman and ending with 2008’s Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise. For the newer releases, players who have achievements or save files tied to their current profile from their Xbox 360 days can transfer them to Xbox One. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will unlock all four Xbox 360 titles

Everyone who buys Gears of War: Ultimate Edition or the Xbox One bundle will be able to unlock the entire series. Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, announced during E3, will allow gamers who pick up Ultimate Edition between August 25 and December 31 to play the entire run on their Xbox One: Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, and Gears of War: Judgment. Of course, current owners will be able to play them using their own copies, once backwards compatibility goes live for all this fall. All save files, add-ons, and achievements will carry over, and they will also support Xbox One features, such as screenshots, Snap, and DVR. Xbox One gamers in the preview program can play the first Gears of War today.

The first two showcased the new opening cinematic and Coalition’s efforts to get the game running at 60 fps in 1080p. Microsoft has announced that retro gamers can now pre-order a copy of Rare Replay for Xbox One from Xbox.com or from the Xbox dashboard. The release also noted that those who have played some of the titles on their Xbox 360 can transfer their profile’s saved progress and achievements over to Xbox One.
