A new limited release poster for Insomniac Games’ upcoming action title Sunset Overdrive will be available at San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Designed by the Austin, TX-based studio Mondo, who makes some rather nice art for vinyl film soundtracks and VHS re-releases, in addition to newer formats, the print marks the gallery’s gaming debut and was created by UK artist Matt Taylor. The poster will be available at Mondo’s booth (#835).

Dead Rising 3 announced for PC, to launch on Steam this summer

Dead Rising 3, formerly an Xbox One exclusive, will be making its way to PC later this summer. Capcom has announced that it will be a download-only release available through Steam. This version will feature “high PC resolutions with fully optimized visuals for the wide screen, upgraded textures on characters, backgrounds and in-game objects.” As a Steam title, the game will support Steam Achievements, Clouds, and Trading Cards as well as support for global leaderboards and controllers.

Ryse: Son of Rome’s multiplayer received a new add-on today, the Morituri Pack. The $7.99 download includes three new arenas for Gladiator mode (Beacon, False Gods, and Revolution), two arenas for Survival mode (Sulfur River and The Forbidden Forest), five arenas for Solo mode (the new Gladiator arenas plus Garden and Market), and the armor of Oswald, King of the Britons. Beacon tasks players with invading a barbarian camp, while False Gods has an Ancient Egypt theme and Revolution a post-collapse Western Roman Empire theme. Both Sulfur River and The Forbidden Forest are filled with traps that spring during combat. A contest to discover the final Easter Egg was also announced, details are available below.

Quantum Break coming in 2015, new trailer and screens released

Alan Wake and Max Payne creator Remedy Entertainment has provided a glimpse at the new Quantum Break details, including a gameplay demonstration, they are prepping for this year’s gamescom in August. To kick things off, a new video has gone live featuring creative director Sam Lake detailing the storyline. Three new action-centric screenshots were also released.

Forza Motorsport 5 getting two more DLC packs in June and July

A new letter from Turn 10 Studios’ community manager, Brian Ekberg, has revealed that the developer plans on adding two more monthly car packs to the Car Pass. The additions will bring the total packs for the pass up to eight and are scheduled for release in June and July. The June pack will go live next Friday, May 30. Just what will be included in the download isn’t known and will only be detailed at launch. The full letter can be found below.

Halo 5: Guardians slated to hit Xbox One in 2015

343 Industries has announced that they are currently developing the fifth entry in the main Halo line, Guardians. Currently scheduled to ship in fall 2015, 343 explained that the extended development cycle is because a “game that runs at 60 frames per second, on dedicated servers, with the scope, features and scale we’ve been dreaming of for more than a decade, is non-trivial.” The studio also noted that Guardians will be larger than Halo 4, in terms of “content and scope” and tech, namely “a brand new and more powerful engine.”

Fulgore, Arcade Mode, lobbies, and more added to Killer Instinct

Killer Instinct’s first season wraps up today with the release of its eighth and final character, Fulgore. The killer cyborg, sporting an updated look but still slinging about a pair of massive blades, is available for $4.99. A general game update has also gone live, adding a new Arcade Mode, a Spectator Mode, and eight-player online lobbies. The end of season one also marks the transition of development duties from creators Double Helix to the new series stewards Iron Galaxy.

Halo: Spartan Assault on sale for Windows 8, headed to Steam

The top-down shooter Halo: Spartan Assault will be available on Steam starting on April 4. Set between Halo 3 and 4, Spartan Assault puts players in the role of two soldiers as they battle a besieging Covenant force. The $4.99 shooter will be on sale from April 3-9 for $1.99 for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. According to the Steam listing, the new version will also be compatible with Windows 7 and Vista.

Project Spark beta program extended to Xbox One

Team Dakota’s Project Spark beta has been expanded to include Xbox One in addition to Windows 8.1. The cross-platform beta allows users to create and share levels and worlds with one another across various devices, an approach that emphasis the project’s three tenants: create, play, and share. Described as “the ultimate interactive digital playground for fans and creators,” pieces can be shared with Team Dakota and other testers, who can then offer feedback. The program itself is also undergoing testing, with users submitting feedback to the developers as they work out the final kinks before launch later this year.
