343 Industries has announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection has gone gold. The Xbox One set will also be receiving a wider release with most territories now scheduled to get the game on the earlier release date, November 11. The countries not included in the bump are Belgium (November 12), Japan (November 13), and France (November 14). The game will also go live for pre-order and pre-download later today, which will allow gamers to pre-load the game to have it ready to play the second it goes live. Those going the digital route should take advantage of that option, as there will be a lot to download: 45 GB for the game and another 20 GB for a launch content patch, which will include “some features and multiplayer content.” The campaign will be playable as content is installing.

Sunset Overdrive goes goooold, pre-order extras and more detailed

Microsoft has sent word that Insomniac Games’ upcoming action shooter Sunset Overdrive has gone gold. Pre-orders are now open, and gamers who put down their cash between now and the game’s release on October 28 will receive the Day One Edition or, for a bit more, the Day One Digital Deluxe Edition. Both versions come with a variety of extras, including modified weapons and an outfit. The full list of items is available below. The Digital version is slightly more expensive at $79.99, but it also includes the $19.99 Season Pass, which adds exclusive outfits as well as new amps and traps.

The last of the six classic multiplayer maps being added to Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been announced, Warlord. The map will included as part of Halo 2: Anniversary, but it originated in Halo as Wizard, which was followed by two further revisions, the first as Warlock in Halo 2 and the second as Magus in Halo: Reach. This updated version will feature additional skill jumps, more cover, and a new weapon located in the center. Warlord joins Ascension, Coagulation, Lockout, Sanctuary, and Zanzibar.

Forza Horizon 2 to get Mobil 1 Car Pack, bonus free ride tomorrow

Turn 10 has revealed details about their first post-launch car pack for Forza Horizon 2. The debut add-on, the Mobil 1 Car Pack, will go live tomorrow and include six vehicles for $5: the 1988 BMW M5, 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, 1957 Maserati 300 S, 2013 Renault Clio RS 200, and 1988 Volkswagen Scirocco 16v. The 1988 BMW M5 is also available for free as a bonus for all players. Details for all of the rides are available below.

D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die, the first episode in a new time-travel murder mystery from Deadly Premonition creator Swery, will be available tomorrow. Players will be able to swap between the controller or Kinect, with the latter offering a way to merge player and protagonist David Young with facial recognition and gesture replication. Kinect can be used while seated, or not at all. A ranking system will also show how the player’s moral compass aligned by comparing their actions to other players’ at the end of each episode.

A free car pack will be available at launch for Forza Horizon 2. The Launch Bonus Car Pack will feature eight cars, listed below, three of which will be making their series debut: the 1993 Clio Williams, 2003 Ford Focus RS, and 1997 Land Rover Defender 90. For the more dedicated fans out there, the Forza Horizon 2 VIP program was also detailed. The $19.99 club ($9.99 for Forza 5 VIP members) allows access to the five-cart VIP Car Pack, four of which are new to the franchise, exclusive multiplayer events, and discounts. Turn 10 launches Forza Rewards program for free cars, in-game cash

Turn 10 has announced a set of rewards for fans of Forza, including free cars for Forza Horizon 2, through the new Forza Rewards program. Gamers have the chance to unlock up to five non-DLC rides, listed below, before they boot up the game by completing certain challenges in Forza 2 through 5, with the examples given being the number of cars owned and miles driven in Forza 5. Rewards, which also includes other cars and in-game credits, are based on a tier system, and any earned items are awarded at the beginning of the month based on which of the five tiers the player reached during the preceding month. Horizon 2 players will receive a gift car (or cars) through the program, with the reward based on the tier reached by launch.
