Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – Blade Wolf launches for 360, PS3

Metal Gear Rising’s second character DLC pack, Blade Wolf, is now available for 360 and PS3. As with the Jetstream release, the download includes a new side story that reveals the character’s origins, from when the chatty AI was known as LQ-84i, and used as a weapon by Desperado Enforcement’s Mistral, to Blade Wolf, Raiden’s robot cat-in-arms. Players have access to new weapons and abilities, as well as a new boss battle.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – Blade Wolf DLC launching May 14

Konami has announced that Blade Wolf, the second character DLC drop for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, will launch on May 14 for 360 and PS3. The pack features LQ-84i in its own adventure, following the unit after its activation by Desperado Enforcement’s leader Sundowner and service under Mistral in the events prior to its time as Blade Wolf alongside Raiden. In addition to exploring the character’s origins, players will get to try new abilities as well as fight in a new boss battle.

Konami goes all out with Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection

Konami plans on celebrating Metal Gear’s 25th anniversary with a massive series-spanning set, Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection. The PlayStation 3 exclusive will include Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition (includes MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition, and Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions. Wrapping up the set will be two digital graphic novels from Ashley Wood.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – Jetstream DLC pack launches

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance gets its first character DLC pack today with the launch of Jetstream. The download, available for 360 and PS3, unlocks the boss for play in a new side campaign that should, according to Konami, add a few additional hours of play time. Players will explore the origin of Samuel Rodrigues, and learn how he came to become one of Raiden’s most dangerous enemies.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain trailer, screenshots released

The first trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was revealed at GDC. The video showcases the new Fox Engine, the latest tool in Kojima Productions’ arsenal to seamlessly bridge gameplay and cutscenes, as well as the destruction of Mother Base, a maimed Snake, and a giant worm-like thing. (A one-word summary of the nearly six-minute clip: “What?”) Some stills were also released and have been posted below.

The VR Mission DLC pack for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is now available for PS3. The 30-challenge drop is a nod to Metal Gear Solid’s VR Missions, which feature a variety of difficult scenarios for Raiden to complete as quickly (and painlessly) as possible, and is free until April 13.

In preparation for the upcoming PS3-exclusive VR Mission DLC pack, Konami has released Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on PSN. The Kojima Productions and PlatinumGames co-developed action title sees a cyborg Raiden on a quest to topple an out-of-control PMC. But there will be more action to come as it was also announced that the 30-mission drop will be available on March 12, and even better, it will be free until April 13.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance slices and dices its way into stores

After a flurry of videos and screenshots, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has hit store shelves. The Kojima Productions and Platinum Games co-production features the former’s flair for storytelling and the latter’s love of crazy action in a new tale featuring everyone’s favorite white-haired ninja, Raiden. Well, maybe “favorite” is a strong word. More like the “Where did Solid Snake go? Who is this guy?!” game-usurping white-haired ninja. But this is the new-and-improved Raiden, the one from Metal Gear Solid 4, kitted out with cyborg limbs and a massive sword. It’s that same sword that will be used to dismember innumerable cyborgs and take down the notorious PMC Desperado Enforcement.
