Sega releases ‘The White Horse’ trailer for Total War: Attila

A new trailer has launch for Total War: Attila. The follow-up to Rome II, scheduled to launch next year, is reminiscent of Barbarian Invasion for Rome, which caught up with Rome after the split of the empire and allowed players to take control of the slowly deteriorating West, robust East, and variety of barbarian factions. The latest video features some unit shots, a quick overview of the empire’s situation at the start of the game, and the emergence of Attila.

Space Hulk: Ascension Edition dated for Nov. 12, new developer diary

The Space Marines are nearly done prepping for their next mission and will be heading out on November 12 in Space Hulk: Ascension Edition. In addition to revealing the launch date, developer Full Control also released a new developer diary trailer focusing on level design and interface. Some of the new features for Ascension Edition include an RPG-like progression and customization system, new rules and mission structures, 103 missions covering three campaign chapters, and new Genestealer types.

Beamdog has followed up their Baldur’s Gate re-releases with another Infinity Engine-powered title, Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition. This new version features remastered high-res art, cross-platform multiplayer support, spells and kits from Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and both expansions, Heart of Winter and Trials of the Luremaster. All of the improvements from Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition are also included, plus new and restored content cut from the original Icewind Dale.

Zen Studios reveals two new South Park pinball titles, out this week

Zen Studios and South Park Digital Studios have teamed up for two new titles: South Park: Super-Sweet Pinball and South Park: Butters’ Very Own Pinball Game. Both games are actually slated to launch this week and will be available for console, mobile, and PC. Super-Sweet Pinball will feature most of the cast playing out events from the series, including hunting down ManBearPig and Cartman’s probe. Butters’ Very Own Pinball Game has him donning his costume as Professor Chaos, stealing the Future Telling Device, and saving Imaginationland.

GOG.com begins new Mutator Promo, sales plus mystery discounts

GOG.com has kicked off the Mutator Promo, a new sales promotion offering up to 85% off select titles. The sale features a strange mutator modifier: three ‘mutator’ games will be available to purchase at a variety of discounts after three others have been purchased from a list of select titles, but the mutator titles won’t be accessible until purchased for $2 upfront nor revealed until after checkout. Some of the deals include Cannon Fodder for $1.19, Eador for $3.99, Outlast for $4.99, and Theme Hospital for $1.49. The set of mutator titles and sale titles will change after 48 hours, and the promo itself will run for the next 6 days.

Creative Assembly brings Rome to the brink with Total War: Attila

Creative Assembly has revealed that they are flowing up the release of Total War: Rome II with Total War: Attila in 2015. As with the original Rome’s expansion Barbarian Invasion, Attila will move the timeline along to the beginning of the Dark Ages. Players will get the chance to lead a struggling empire against migrating barbarians fighting to settle on imperial lands while battling usurpers, staving off diseases, and attempting to maintain a treasury heavily depleted after the empire split between east and west. Attila will see the return of family trees and skill trees as well as new mechanics, such as settlement destruction, civilians present during town battles, and dynamic fire that can spread during city assaults. Unfortunately, a full list of playable factions was not released.

Tropico 5 now available online for Linux, Mac and SteamOS

The Tropican Department of Information has announced that El Presidente has single–handedly, and most gloriously, completed development of Tropico 5 for Linux, Mac, and SteamOS. Available through the Mac App Store and Steam, the latest installment adds a new Dynasty System to the series’ traditional city-building and political elements, allowing players to extend their rule through multiple eras. The App Store version features cross-platform multiplayer, while the Steam version also supports cross-platform multiplayer as well as Big Picture Mode and controllers. Steam users who already purchased Tropico 5 can download the new versions for free.

Total War: Rome II – Emperor Edition launching September 16

Sega has announced that the upcoming Emperor Edition of Total War: Rome II will launch on September 16 for both Mac and Windows PC. Marked as the definitive version of the game, Emperor Edition will include all updates, all free DLC, and the upcoming free Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack. The Augustus pack will overhaul the building chains, politics system, and add a new campaign centered on the Second Triumvirate War. Steam users can currently opt-in to the latest beta patch to experience most of the changes now, though the campaign won’t be available until final release.
