Axiom Verge in development for Xbox One, Wii U, releasing this year

Developer Tom Happ will be bringing his throwback action-platformer Axiom Verge to Wii U and Xbox One. Currently available for PC and PS4, the Metroid-style adventure features over 40 weapons and tools, nearly 100 upgrades, 80-plus creatures, and nearly a thousand rooms to explore. Players can also utilize glitches to gain an advantage by corrupting environments, scrambling enemies, and uncovering secret areas.

Dungeon of the Endless heading to Xbox One next month

Amplitude Studios’ roguelike dungeon-defense title Dungeon of the Endless is heading to Xbox One on March 16. The console version will feature a single-player mode, an online co-op mode for up to four players, updated controls, and a revamped interface. After crash landing on an alien planet, players must manage and lead a team of heroes through randomly generation, monster-filled dungeons in an attempt to reach the surface.

Resident Evil 0 now available online, in stores for PS4, Xbox One

Capcom continues the Resident Evil remaster trend today with the release of Resident Evil 0. Available digitally and in stores, the prequel takes place back in 1998, before Chris and Jill set foot in Raccoon City. As STARS medic Rebecca Chambers and fugitive ex-Marine Billy Coen, players will have to uncover the truth behind a nearby outbreak by swapping between the two to solve puzzles, look for clues, and of course, defeat mutants aplenty. This version features updated graphics and audio, a new optional control scheme, and the post-game Wesker Mode, which features a beefed-up Wesker and Rebecca in an alternate uniform.

King’s Quest: Rubble Without a Cause on PSN, tomorrow Live, Steam

Graham gets his crown today with the release of King’s Quest – Chapter 2: Rubble Without a Cause for PS3 and PS4. The follow-up to A Knight to Remember finds Graham being booted out of his newly acquired kingdom by a band of goblins. The captain’s chair calls, Starpoint Gemini 2 available for Xbox One

Starpoint Gemini 2, a space sim and role-playing hybrid, has launched for Xbox One. Set against the backdrop of a mysterious event causing the Empire to halt at the Starpoint and cease finishing the remnants of the Gemini League, players will enter the scene as a ship captain surrounded by enemies. In time, they will be able to command a fleet of everything from agile gunships to massive carriers, battling in real-time combat and exploring a dynamic universe. The game features 50 factions, 100 commodities to trade or steal, 70-plus upgradeable ships, mercenaries, randomly generated missions based on actions and treaties, and a role-playing system. The Xbox One version sports a new save-anywhere system, redesigned interface, and no load screens.

King’s Quest: Rubble Without a Cause release dates announced

Sierra has announced the release dates for Rubble Without a Cause, the second chapter in The Odd Gentlemen’s episodic King’s Quest series. The release will be split up over two days, with the PS3 and PS4 versions launching late afternoon on December 15 and the PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One versions on December 16. The second chapter picks up shortly after the first as the newly crowned King Graham sets out to rescue the kingdom from a band of invading goblins.

Life is Strange to get limited physical release on January 19

Square Enix has announced a limited-run physical version of Dontnod’s Life is Strange for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The time-bending episodic adventure will be available in a boxed set on January 19 and contain a 32-page art book, directors’ commentary, and a selection of tracks from the game. The full list of included tunes is available below, with 14 from the soundtrack and 8 from the game’s composer, Jonathan Morali.

CI Games has released Lords of the Fallen: Complete Edition for PS4 and Xbox One. Smite launches on Steam, Ultimate God Pack on sale

Hi-Rez’s mythology-themed MOBA Smite is now available on Steam. Up until the recent final launch of the Xbox One version, the free-to-play title had been downloadable through a proprietary service. The Steam version supports integration with the current infrastructure, so both communities can queue and play together. No migration is needed for those who prefer playing their titles through Steam, as the game is account based, and all that is required is players to log in with their username. To celebrate the release, Hi-Rez is selling the Ultimate God Pack, which includes all current and future gods, for the reduced price of $19.99 until September 13.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – Reckoning now on PSN, Steam

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – Reckoning is now available for PC, PS3, and PS4. The final download includes four new maps (Fracture, Overload, Quarantine, and Swarm), an Exo Grapple playlist, and the Exo Zombies finale, Descent.
