Divinity: Original Sin 2 has unlocked a new goal after passing $1.5 million in funding. The game will now be released with a new playable area, the Hall of Echoes. The hall is located in a space between reality and the void. Along with the announcement was news of additional stretch goals, including dedicated mod support, a more involved dynamic relationship system that allows for romance, and a Game Master Mode that includes an in-game editor. Larian has announced that the Undead have been added as the fifth playable race in Divinity: Original Sin 2. They are being added as a fulfillment of a stretch goal for the game’s ongoing Kickstarter campaigned for having surpassed $1,200,000 in funding. The studio released a video, below, detailing the latest addition. Also, for those wanting to see the game in action, a livestream event has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, at 2 p.m. (CST) on their Twitch channel.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Kickstarter campaign gets new goals, rewards

Larian has rolled out new stretch goals and bonus rewards for Divinity: Original Sin 2’s Kickstarter campaign. The goals are for the Strategist Mode, additional backer-chosen Skill Trees, unique Racial Trees, an Undead Origin option, and a new location, Hall of Echoes. But wait! Strategist Mode has already been unlocked. Two new rewards are also on offer, with backers who pledge at least $125 receiving the Digital Developer’s Diary and everyone who pledges over $200 receiving a signed piece of concept art.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Kickstarter campaign now live, new screens up

Larian’s Divinity: Original Sin 2 Kickstarter campaign went live earlier today, and has already accumulated hundreds of thousands towards their goal of $500,000. The sequel will once again feature turn-based combat, multiplayer, and a classless progression system. Up to four players will be able to play through the campaign together, and be capable of switching between co-op and competitive play throughout the story by putting the party or their own goals first. Character origins, actions, birthplace, and reputation will also alter how non-playable characters react to their presence. Campaign backers will be able to select from several Kickstarter-only rewards, including custom art, multiplayer packs, a special collector’s edition, and other extras. All backers can give feedback to Larian, and everyone who puts down $25 or higher will receive alpha and beta access.

Divinity: Original Sin II announced, hitting Kickstarter this month

Larian Studios has announced that Divinity: Original Sin II is in development. As with the original, the studio will be turning to the fans via Kickstarter to help fund the final release. But before the campaign begins on August 26, Larian is allowing potential funders the chance to vote on the campaign’s rewards. As to why the studio is returning to crowdfunding, Larian founder Swen Vincke wrote in a blog post that, among other reasons, the feedback from backers and Steam Early Access players proved invaluable during development. And as to what they have planned, he uses the example of Baldur’s Gate 2 in comparison to Baldur’s Gate, in that the sequel will offer more and better content due to the team not having to focus on developing an engine.

The Bard’s Tale IV reaches $1.25 million Kickstarter funding goal

After recently announcing that the original trilogy has been added as a tier reward for Bard’s Tale IV’s ongoing Kickstarter campaign, inXile has sent word that they’ve met their funding goal. During the weekend, pledges surpassed the $1.25 million mark. Upcoming stretch goals include an enhanced companion NPC system and two more CNPCs at $1.3 million and an enhanced crafting system at $1.35 million.

Bard’s Tale IV backers of $20 or more to get Bard’s Tale trilogy

inXile is adding even more extras to the reward tiers for their ongoing Kickstarter campaign for The Bard’s Tale IV. Now, everyone who pledges at least $20 will receive the original trilogy for free: The Bard’s Tale, The Bard’s Tale II: The Destiny Knight, and The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate. Emulated versions of the games will be sent to backers after the campaign has ended. The studio also announced that they have reached an agreement with Bard’s Tale III programmer Rebecca “Burger” Heineman to update the Apple IIGS versions of each to run on modern Windows and Mac PCs, which will also be free to backers.

Bard’s Tale IV early backers to get Wasteland 2, Witcher 1 or Witcher 2

inXile has sweetened the pot for The Bard’s Tale IV’s Kickstarter campaign by tossing in a free game. Backers who put towards the game within the first 24 hours of the campaign’s launch will receive a free copy of Wasteland 2, The Witcher, or The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. The freebie is part of the $20 and up reward tiers, and the game will be available once the campaign ends. Wasteland 2 will be delivered via Steam or GOG.com, while both Witchers will be delivered through GOG.com. The campaign is set to kick off on June 2 at 8 a.m. (CST).
