The PlayStation 4 version of Grand Ages: Medieval received a free update today, Siege & Conquest. The update adds two types of city walls, the Trebuchet Master siege engine, colony ships, pirates, and battle options to have troops retreat or adopt a stance (offensive or defensive). A few of the gameplay changes include scouts receiving additional health points and captured trade routes being more efficient. The entire changelog can be found here, and a video walkthrough of the additions and tweaks can be found below.
The PlayStation 4 is getting its first grand strategy title later this summer with the release of Grand Ages: Medieval. Set in 1050 A.D., during the High Middle Ages, players must lead their small settlement to domination by gathering resources, establishing trade routes, founding cities, researching technology, and negotiating with neighbors. Players will also have to train and equip an army to go to war to protect their holdings and expand their domain. A single-player campaign will span decades, while multiplayer will allow eight would-be rulers to square off and a free play mode will offer the chance to customize the rules. Kalypso has also released a nearly seven-minute-long how-to video, posted below, showing the game in action.
If you’ve been feeling the urge to lure would-be heroes to their doom, then you’re in luck! Kalypso Media’s Dungeons is not only now available from online distributors and on its way to retail, but a new three-level single-player demo has also launched (available at Big Download and FileShack, among other portals).
As a disgraced Dungeon Lord, you are tasked with tricking heroes into a trap-filled dungeon to drain their soul energy in order to fuel the creation of even deadlier dungeons. With the help of goblin minions and nutritious heroes, you’ll climb the ranks of the underworld to combat three other dungeon lords as well as the most evil villain of all: an ex-girlfriend.
