Gamers attending the 2014 Anime Expo, running from Thursday to Sunday in Los Angeles, will be able to check out several gaming events being hosted by Bandai Namco. An hour-long panel on Japanese RPGs, the JRPG Power Hour, will kick things off on Thursday with talks on Tales of Hearts R, Tales of Xillia 2, and Sword Art Online. Two tournaments will also be held at the company’s booth (#101) throughout the weekend, one on Friday for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle and another on Saturday for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst. Additionally, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment producer Yosuke Futami and One Piece Unlimited World Red producer Koji Nakajima will both be on hand to sign autographs. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, CyberConnect2’s latest manga-based fighter, is now available for PS3. Bandai Namco has announced that the game is now live for download through PSN and that the limited physical run is now shipping out from Amazon and Club Namco. All-Star Battle features characters from the manga’s eight story arcs battling it out in a one-on-one, tournament-style fighter using five different Battle Styles.
The CyberConnect2-developed fighter JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will be launching tomorrow on PSN and shipping out from Amazon and Club Namco. To get gamers up to speed on the lore behind the strange brawler, Bandai Namco has released an eight-minute-long trailer covering the storyline up to its third arc. The summary is filled with a lot of weird-looking fighters spouting crazy dialog and pummeling each other into oblivion. Check it out below.
CyberConnect2’s upcoming fighter JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will be going for sale on April 29. As previously announced, the game will be available digitally and as a limited boxed version sold only through Amazon and Club Namco. For those wanting to pre-order, it was also revealed today that both outlets are each offering their own unique bonus in the form of a downloadable character. Club Namco has the salesman-turned-killer Yoshikage Kira, while Amazon is offering the portly trickster Shigekiyo Yangu.
Namco Bandai has some good news for fans of fighting games, and that’s a retail release and new mode for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle. The CyberConnect2-developed fighter, released last August in Japan, will be launching later this year online for download and to purchase on disc. The PS3 exclusive will be available to download through PSN and also in limited availability in physical format through Amazon.com and ClubNamco.com. The Western release will include not only post-release balance tweaks but also a new mode, Arcade, which adds an eight-player tournament.
CyberConnect2’s one-on-one fighter JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will be launching next year in North America for PS3, according to publisher Namco Bandai. Based off of Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga, the upcoming brawler will feature a Story Mode, local and online Versus, and a roster filled with characters from all eight story arcs. Each character will utilize one of five Battle Styles and have access to an array of unique special moves.
