Rage HD app gets update, two DLC episode packs
id’s iOS rail shooter Rage HD has been updated today, bringing the app to version 2.0. The update includes support for iOS 5, new melee combat, and access to two new episodes, Kraken and Aqueduct. The app goes for $1.99 and the episodes for $.99 each, purchasable from the Store button on the game’s main menu.

Rage HD App for iOS family now free until August 25
Some great news for those looking to grab a great iOS game for free. Bethesda has released id’s Rage HD App for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch for free. All thanks to the game’s official Facebook page receiving 100,000 ‘Likes,’ gamers can grab the full version from now until August 25 at no charge.

QuakeCon 2011 Steam and App Store sales kick off
Some celebratory QuakeCon 2011 sales have hit Steam and the Apple App store today, with discounts on both id and Bethesda titles. In addition to Steam’s offerings, with the full list found here, including a daily deal featuring a Doom & Quake Complete Pack with Quake IV, many of id’s mobile titles are also on sale. There are some solid deals to be had, including Doom Classic for $1.99 (down from $6.99) and Doom II RPG for $.99 (down from $3.99) on the App Store. Additional details can be found below.

QuakeCon 2011 Quake Live, Brink tournament details announced
Bethesda has announced tournament details for the upcoming convention of all things id, QuakeCon. The latest in the long-running free event is set to take place at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas, from August 4-7. This year’s convention will feature tournaments for Quake Live and Brink. Quake Live will have two tournaments, a 16-player Duel and an eight-team Team Deathmatch, while Brink will host a 16-team Team Death of five-player crews. All players will be using the same system, the Alienware Aurora, and prizes top $40,000. Full details are provided below.
