Rage midnight launch to host Carmack, Willits, and others from id
Itching to try out Rage? The folks at id are eager for you to try it too, and to celebrate the game’s launch, several id employees will be on hand at the midnight launch to meet fans and sign copies of the game. The GameStop located at 503 N. Galloway Avenue in Mesquite, Texas, will host John Carmack (CTO), Tim Willits (Creative Director), Matt Hooper (Design Director) and others from the team, starting at 11:00 p.m. tonight, for a meet and greet.

Rage novel hits store shelves
A new book based on id’s upcoming shooter Rage is now available to prime you for the post-apocalyptic world that awaits this fall. The Matthew Costello-penned novel follows Lieutenant Nick Raine as he steps out of an underground Ark and onto an Earth devastated by an asteroid impact. Hundreds of years have passed, and Raine finds a world populated by mutants, bandits, haggard survivors, and a brutal faction known as the Authority. With his goal to restore civilization (simple!), Raine will have to face down the dangers of the wilds.

Rage comic series wraps up, final issue now available
The last of Dark Horse’s three-part Rage comic series is now on store shelves. The trilogy serves as a prequel to id’s upcoming shooter, taking readers through the events that lead to the world turning into a massive ball of unpleasantness and the rise of the Authority.

QuakeCon 2011 – full schedule now available
John Carmack’s Annual Keynote kicking off QuakeCon 2011 has already been announced, as have a number of other speakers and presenters. Today Bethesda and id have released the entire line-up for the upcoming event, which includes information on all the panels and panelists, such as Kevin Cloud (id), Abbie Heppe (Respawn), Julien Roby (Arkane), and Ryan Schneider (Insomniac). QuakeCon 2011 – Carmack keynote, appearances announced
QuakeCon 2011 will start with a bang this year. Scheduled to kick off on Thursday, August 4, the first day of the three-day event will begin with a keynote address from co-founder and Technical Director of id Software, John Carmack. Todd Howard, Game Director of Bethesda Game Studios, will also be in attendance to present The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the first time publicly. Chris Rhinehart, Project Lead at Human Head Studios, will be joining in the festivities with the first public demo of Prey 2. Matt Hooper, Rage’s Design Director, will also be on hand to give a presentation as attendees get a chance to try out id’s upcoming shooter for themselves.

First issue of Rage prequel trilogy on newsstands
The first issue of the Rage comic trilogy is now available. The Arvid Nelson-penned prequel kicks off with a cover from Glenn Fabry and a variant cover from the game’s art director, Stephan Martiniere. To find out how man survives and thrives in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, readers will have to check out the game when it hits store shelves on October 4 for the 360, PC, and PS3.

QuakeCon 2011 – Online pre-registration kicks off today
Online pre-registration for QuakeCon 2011 will begin today at 7:00pm (CST)/8:00pm (EST). The convention will take place in Dallas, Texas from August 4 to 7 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. Bethesda and id are also spicing things up a bit this year with new premium packages, but note that the event continues to be free for any and all gamers. More info on the premium packages, which includes everything from guaranteed reserved seating at the Bring Your Own Computer LAN Party to limited edition goodies, is included below.

Rage – Graffiti Contest, Sweepstakes now live
Bethesda has launched a Graffiti Contest and a Sweepstakes for id’s upcoming shooter, Rage. Inspired by the graffiti found scattered throughout the game, the contest gives aspiring artists a chance for the world to see their work with the winner’s material being featured in the final version. In addition, winners will also receive an iPad and a free trip to QuakeCon 2011 in Dallas, Texas. The sweepstakes gives the less creative of us a chance to win as well with the winner also receiving a free trip to QuakeCon 2011 and an iPad.

Rage v.1.11 update goes live

The v.1.11 update is now available for Rage and Rage HD on iTunes Store. Some of the major fixes and features added include:

- Game Center Achievements – More than 50 achievements to unlock. Career, map and difficulty specific challenges!
