The Forerunner Saga continues with the release of Halo: Primordium
Greg Bear’s (Eon, The Forge of God) Forerunner Saga continues today with the release of Halo: Primordium, the second release in the ongoing series that delves deeper into the universe before the time of Master Chief. Published by Tor Books, Primordium follows Cryptum in further detailing the events leading up to the games. After the destruction of the Forerunner empire, two humans find themselves on a damaged Halo and in the sights of a being claiming to be the Last Precursor.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary “Living Monument” site opens
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary’s release is nearly here. Starting at midnight, a few lucky fans will be able to meet some of the crew from 343 Industries and Certain Affinity when they grab their copy at one of the launch parties. Fans who can’t make it to one of Microsoft’s events (listed below) can still contribute to the festivities by heading to HaloLivingMonument.com and uploading pictures of their favorite “Halo” moments, which will then be used to form a 3D mosaic image of the Chief. Submissions can also be rated and shared on Facebook and Twitter. Fans who contribute will find their additions included in a live-action tribute video that will serve as a nod to the series’ devoted.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary midnight launch, festivities info
Microsoft is celebrating Halo: Combat Evolved’s ten-year anniversary with its very own decennalia. On November 15, over a dozen retailers will open their doors at midnight for the launch of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. The updated re-release, which will include maps from across the series, new features (Live co-op, new challenges, and a Firefight map), and Kinect support, will be available for $39.99 at midnight, but the festivities will kick off at 10 p.m. on November 13. Thirteen Microsoft Stores, listed below, will host friendly tournaments with free pizza and Monster Energy drinks, giveaways for the first 100 people in line as well as the first 100 to snag a copy, and a contest to win a limited Halo: Anniversary 360 console skin.

Tor releases BioShock: Rapture, details on Halo: Primordium and The Moon Maze Game
Tor has had a busy week. In addition to Comic-Con, the company has not only released a new title expanding the BioShock universe but also details on the upcoming Halo: Primordium and The Moon Maze Game. The big news, though, is the release of BioShock: Rapture. Penned by John Shirley (Eclipse, Black Glass), Rapture is a prequel to the first game and details Andrew Ryan’s rise and the founding of the now-famous underwater city. Gamers interested to find out more about life before the civil war can pick up a copy for $14.99.

Tor announces Halo: Grasslands, first in new trilogy
Science-fiction publisher Tor Books has revealed the title and cover for the first of their next Halo trilogy, Halo: Grasslands. Author Karen Traviss has dabbled in the Halo universe before with a short story in Halo: Evolutions, Human Weakness. The upcoming trilogy will continue the story of the characters from Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, exploring their role in the events following Halo 3.
