Grand Theft Auto Online to get new modes with Heists update

Rockstar has revealed the new content additions that are set to go live with Heists next week for GTA Online. The online component will receive additional Daily Objectives, Free Mode Activities, and new Adversary Modes. The latter will unlock as players clear Heists, and include Come Out To Play, with three runners trying to make it home before hunters track them down; Siege Mentality, which pits four defenders against six attackers; and Hasta La Vista, a race between cyclists and homicidal truckers. A new universal email notification system will also be implemented, allowing players to reach friends in other sessions, in addition to new Awards and rewards.

Rockstar releases 15 new screens from Grand Theft Auto V for PC

Rockstar has released over a dozen new screenshots from the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. The studio also announced another digital pre-order bonus, with PC gamers getting the chance to score $300,000 of in-game cash for Grand Theft Auto Online by ordering the digital version from Rockstar Warehouse and other outlets. For those who have already pre-ordered either the physical or digital version, that is in addition to the $1.2 million already on offer.

GTA Online getting Heists on March 10, PC GTAV releasing April 14

Rockstar has announced that Heists will be added to GTA Online on March 10. Heists have long been in the works, and when released, will allow for up to four players to team up for multi-part raids and robberies. More info should be available soon, including details on other new content currently in the works. The studio also revealed that the PC version of GTAV has been pushed back from March 24 to April 14, with the reason behind the delay being that “a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC.” To hold players over, nearly a dozen new Heist screenshots were released to showcase the upcoming mode.

Screenshots and specs released for PC version of Grand Theft Auto V

Some news out of Rockstar HQ today for PC gamers looking to take a trip to Los Santos. The studio has revealed that Grand Theft Auto V’s official launch date is now March 24. They also released the first PC-only screenshots as well as the system specs, all of which can be found below. The PC version will run at 1080p and 60fps with support for up to 4K resolution, and for those with multiple monitors, support for up to three at a time. And of course, the Rockstar Editor will be included for creating, editing, and publishing game clips as well as access to Grand Theft Auto Online. Heists, which will be available soon for the console versions of GTA Online, will be ready out the gate for the PC version.

Heists emerge in new Grand Theft Auto Online screenshots, trailer

Heists have been an eagerly awaited addition to Grand Theft Auto Online, and today, Rockstar has revealed a bit more about their plans. The four-player, multi-tiered Heists are currently scheduled to be added to Grand Theft Auto Online in early 2015 for all versions across console and PC. The mode will also bring with it new weapons, clothing, and vehicles. Over a dozen screenshots have also been posted, which, along with the trailer, should give would-be robbers a good look at what’s in store for next year.

After a flurry of recent news, including the reveal of a first-person mode and a last-gen to current-gen comparison video, the enhanced PS4 and Xbox One version of Grand Theft Auto V has been released. Rebuilt for the new systems, the latest version features new activities, wildlife, weapons, and vehicles, in addition to 150-plus new songs. Grand Theft Auto Online has also been updated with support for up to 30 players as well as the new first-person mode. Players can transfer their existing Online characters and progress to either version.

Rockstar has followed up their announcement about the upcoming first-person mode in the new versions of Grand Theft Auto V with a trailer demonstrating the graphical improvements that players can expect. Specifically, the video covers the differences between the PS3 and PS4 versions, showcasing a variety of locales, vehicles, and characters during its nearly minute and a half running time. In addition to a higher resolution, the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions will also sport double the drawing distance and upgraded textures.

Upcoming versions of Grand Theft Auto V get First Person Experience

In addition to the recently revealed new content for the upcoming PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar has announced a brand-new mode: First Person Experience. Players can now experience the game, single player or online, using a first-person perspective that has been fully integrated into the game world. To achieve this, Rockstar has created an optional first-person cover system, a new targeting system, new animations, and a traditional first-person shooter control scheme. Views can be switched between on the fly throughout play. A trailer and some new screenshots were released to highlight the new mode.

Rockstar has revealed more details about the bonuses in store for Grand Theft Auto V players that upgrade to one of the upcoming versions for PC, PS4, or Xbox One. The extensive list is available below, as is a host of frequently asked questions about upgrades, the transferring of exclusive content from current-gen versions, and the handling of Grand Theft Auto Online characters and jobs. Some of the additions include new events and rewards to unlock new vehicles, including the Dodo seaplane, a murder mystery that rewards two Noir Style Filters, and a wildlife photography challenge that unlocks the Kraken sub. New players will also find extra vehicles added for the release, including several from previous GTAs, and anyone who pre-orders will receive a million bucks to spend in-game, half for Story Mode and half for GTA Online.
