Everyone who buys Gears of War: Ultimate Edition or the Xbox One bundle will be able to unlock the entire series. Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, announced during E3, will allow gamers who pick up Ultimate Edition between August 25 and December 31 to play the entire run on their Xbox One: Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, and Gears of War: Judgment. Of course, current owners will be able to play them using their own copies, once backwards compatibility goes live for all this fall. All save files, add-ons, and achievements will carry over, and they will also support Xbox One features, such as screenshots, Snap, and DVR. Xbox One gamers in the preview program can play the first Gears of War today.

Survival joins multiplayer as the latest co-op mode.
