GOG, Games Workshop bring three Warhammer titles to service

The Emperor is pleased! GOG.com has inked a deal with Games Workshop to add Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 titles to their library. Three titles are making their ‘good old’ debut today: Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate, and Warhammer 40,000 Epic: Final Liberation. Shadow of the Horned Rat ($5.99) is the oldest of the bunch, a tactical strategy game with perma-death, while Chaos Gate ($9.99) is a turn-based strategy title with light customization elements and Final Liberation ($5.99) is another turn-based title. All three have been updated to run on modern systems and include their original soundtracks.

Chaos Black Crusade appears in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada screens

Tindalos has released new screenshots from their upcoming digital adaptation of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada. The game takes place during the Gothic War, as the Imperium battles the traitor Abaddon the Despoiler after Chaos launches surprise attacks against the empire’s naval bases. The screenshots showcase the Chaos Black Crusade, which consists of everything from small raiders to Abbadon’s capital ship, The Planet Killer.

The Reikland Reavers show off their moves in Blood Bowl 2 trailer

Cyanide has rolled out the first gameplay footage from Blood Bowl 2. The video features the human Reikland Reavers squaring off against orcs, demonstrating some of the 75 different skills. There’s also a glimpse of what the new engine brings to the series, including cheering fans, a dynamic camera, and improved animations. The official site has also been relaunched, offering more info on multiplayer and the eight playable races.

Steam Early Access version of Mordheim: City of the Damned updated

Rogue Factory has updated the Early Access version of Mordheim: City of the Damned. The tactical role-playing game has been beefed up with three new skirmish maps, one procedurally generated alongside the Bridge and the Library; max-level warbands for all four races; and a variety of graphical upgrades with the switch from Unity 4 to Unity 5. A few new screenshots were also released to show off the new maps.

Terminators, Genestealers square off in Space Hulk: Deathwing trailer

A first-look video has been released from StreumOn’s upcoming first-person shooter Space Hulk: Deathwing. The slow-mo-heavy CGI trailer, titled Rise of the Terminators, gives a peek into the battle between Terminators and Genestealers that players will get to take part in when Deathwing is released later this year for console and PC. No word on which consoles, though.

Hammerfall details Regicide Collector’s Edition bundles for PC

Hammerfall Publishing has begun taking pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition bundles of Regicide, their new chess-like game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. There are 10 different Collector’s Edition bundles available for the PC version, and each features early access to the game, a set of art prints, and a t-shirt or hoodie designed by artist Stefan Kopinski. The full list of bundles can be found here. Regicide features the rules of chess but with a storyline based around the Blood Angels and other Space Marine chapters battling Orks, power-ups such as physic powers, and different battlefield types. Multiplayer will also be supported for player-versus-player matches.

Ork pirates incoming! Battlefleet Gothic: Armada announced for PC

Focus Home and Tindalos Interactive have announced a new real-time strategy game set in the Warhammer 40K universe, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada. The title is based on a Games Workshop tabletop game of the same name that centers on the Imperial Navy’s Battlefleet Gothic’s struggle against the Chaos Black Crusade of Abaddon the Despoiler for control of the Gothic sector. Players will also be able to command battlefleets made up of Eldar and Ork forces, customized to their liking, with options for weaponry, defense, and support subsystems. Crews will also be persistent, gaining and leveling with each victory. The screens released today are from an early build, but more images and details should be coming in soon.

Chilled Mouse brings Warhammer Quest to PC, now on Steam

Chilled Mouse has released Warhammer Quest for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. The turn-based strategy game is based on Games Workshop’s board game, which pits a team of heroes against hordes of enemies scattered throughout the dungeons that dot the border of the Empire. Players can control and level up the Marauder, Wood Elf Waywatcher, Dwarf IronBreaker, and Grey Wizard as they battle Orcs, Night Goblins, River Trolls, and Skaven. Two versions are available, a $14.99 standard edition and a $27 expanded edition.

Genestealers closing in! New Space Hulk: Deathwing trailer released

Focus Home has released a new trailer for Streum On’s Space Hulk: Deathwing, a new first-person shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The Summer Trailer was created using UE4 engine and features a Librarian of the Deathwing, the game’s protagonist, battling a wave of Genestealers alongside his fellow Deathwing Terminators squadmates. As a loyal Librarian of the Emperor of Mankind, players will travel through the chaotic Warp to battle Genestealers as they gather relics, unlock new weapons, and evolve through four skill trees.

The Space Hulk series will be returning as a first-person shooter with Streum On Studio’s Space Hulk: Deathwing. The E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy developer will be porting over the boardgame using the latest Unreal Engine with the assistance of Cyanide Studio. Deathwing will allow players to battle Genestealers inside of a Space Hulk as a Librarian from the Dark Angels, gaining new skills, abilities, and equipment as their Space Marine works their way through the craft’s myriad passages.
