Call of Duty: Ghosts tops charts, logs over 1 billion matches globally

Activision has released a number of new stats today suggesting that Call of Duty: Ghosts is finding a warm welcome in the latest console generation. According to the release, Microsoft has named Ghosts as the most-played Xbox One multiplayer title in the world, while Sony announced that it is the most-played PlayStation 4 game. Ghosts is also the top-selling Xbox One game in the UK, and in the US, it is the top-selling PS4 and Xbox One title at several retailers, including GameStop and Walmart. And for added measure, the release also added that over 1 billion multiplayer matches have been played to date and that Microsoft has named it the most-played multiplayer game for 360.

Battlefield 4 goes in hot for Xbox One, double XP weekend en route

Battlefield 4 has been sent out on its final deployment today with its release for Xbox One. In addition to the launch announcement, DICE also had a note for fans who have been playing one of the other versions and have experienced some problems, which is that they “have the entire team working to stabilize the game and we will not move on to other projects until we are sure that Battlefield 4 meets – and exceeds – your expectations.” A Double XP weekend was announced to thank players for their patience, which will begin on November 28 and run through December 5. A special weapon add-on, the 3X-zoom-enabled M1911 pistol scope, will also be given to players that log in on December 5.

Destiny beta to launch first for PS3 and PS4

To help kick off the launch of the PS4, Activision and Bungie have announced that the Destiny beta will be available first on PS3 and PS4. To gain access to the beta, players will need to pre-order the game from a participating retailer and enter the given nine-digit code at the official site. A note for those who pre-ordered before October 1: those who qualify have been automatically entered and will receive their code in an email from the retailer.

Gamers looking forward to Respawn Entertainment’s debut won’t have much longer to wait, as EA has revealed that Titanfall will launch on March 11. It was also announced that the 360, PC, and Xbox One versions will receive a Collector’s Edition. Priced at an eyebrow-raising $249.99, the premium set will include an 18” statue of an Atlas titan (complete with LED lighting), an 190-page art book, and a poster featuring the Atlas’ schematics. The standard release and the Collector’s Edition are scheduled to launch at the same time.
