First six of 350-plus rides revealed from Forza Horizon 3

Turn 10 has begun detailing the rides set to be included in Forza Horizon 3. There will be 150 more vehicles than in Horizon 2, which will bring the total count to just over 350. Several will be making their debut, such as the 2016 Ariel Nomad and the 2015 Baldwin Motorsports #97 Monster Energy Trophy Truck. Buggies will feature prominently as one of the new ride types being introduced. Six rides in total were revealed, and detailed below, including the 2015 Ford Falcon XR8 and the 2015 Polaris RZR XP 1000 EPS.

Turn 10 has released a pack of hand-selected downloadable cars for Forza Motorsport 6. The Turn 10 Select Car Pack features seven rides for $7: the 2014 Jaguar #14 Emil Frey GT3 Jaguar XK, 2015 Mercedes-Benz #24 Tankpool24 Racing Truck, 2014 Chevrolet #4 ROAL Motorsport RML Cruze TC1 WTCC, 1980 Fiat 124 Sport Spider, 2015 McLaren 570S Coupé, 1969 Ford Brawner Hawk III, and the 1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export. The vehicles can also be purchased individually. Additionally, a content update has also gone live, re-adding three tracks into competitive play: Monza, Catalunya, and Circuit of the Americas. Several changes were made to them, such as Turn 4 in Monza having its tire wall adjusted to change the driving line and reduce corner cutting.

E3 2016 – Microsoft: Xbox One 2, Scorpio, Forza Horizon, Dead Rising

Microsoft had plenty to show at their conference, including gameplay reveals of Rare’s Pirate-themed multiplayer-entric Sea of Thieves and the co-op-friendly Forza Horizon 3. Other trailers posted below include announcement videos for Dead Rising 4, State of Decay 2, and We Happy Few, plus more from Scalebound, ReCore, and others. Phantom Dust is still a go, too (woo!). Play Anywhere was prominent, which further integrates Xbox One and Windows 10 by offering cross-buy support and same-day release for MS-published titles. The biggest reveals were the Xbox One S and Project Scorpio. The Xbox One S will be 40 percent smaller, come in white, have an internal power supply, support 4K Ultra HD for Blu-rays and streaming content, support High Dynamic Range (HDR) for games, and come with an updated controller. Kinect adapters will be required, but they will be free from Microsoft. The systems will roll out August 2016 for $299 (500 GB), $349 (1 TB), and $399 (limited launch edition 2 TB). Project Scorpio will be arriving holiday 2017, and is being described as “the most powerful console ever created” with support for 4K gaming and VR thanks to its “6 teraflops of GPU.” All Xbox One games will work on all Xbox One systems.

Online Forza 6 tournament announced, Forza Racing Championship

Later this year, Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios will hold a new online tournament for Forza 6, Forza Racing Championship. The competition is set to be open to players of all skill levels, which is said to allow everyone “a chance to win, no matter how many miles they have behind the wheel.” To celebrate, codes for the 2016 #66 Ford GT Le Mans race car in Forza Motorsport 6 will be sent through Live messages to everyone who plays the game on June 18 and 19. The release notes that it will take up to seven days for some players to receive their code. Also, in honor of Le Mans, a new Le Mans-themed Rivals event is being added this week.

A new NASCAR Expansion has gone live for Forza Motorsport 6. The add-on includes a World Tour career that’s estimated to last 10 hours, 24 cars from the 2016 season, and the Homestead-Miami Speedway, which is playable in all modes. There are also NASCAR-themed Rivals, Leagues, and multiplayer hoppers, plus a few new features, including rolling starts, an enhanced drafting model, and a new Quick Stop mode.

Forza Motorsport 6: Apex enters open beta for Windows 10 PC

Microsoft and Turn 10 have launched the open beta for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex. The beta, announced last week, is available to download for free from the Windows Store. Apex requires a DirectX 12-enabled Windows 10 PC. The beta will include “a curated tour of Forza Motorsport’s best content” and regularly updating Spotlight Series events. For those participating, Turn 10 asks that questions and issues be reported at ForzaMotorsport.net or in the dedicated Apex forums.

Forza and Hot Wheels are kicking off their partnership today with the release of Hot Wheels Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6. The seven-car pack includes the 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker, 2005 Ford Hot Wheels Mustang, 2015 McLaren P1 GTR, 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport, 2015 BMW X6M, the 1990 Ferrari #1 Scuderia Ferrari 641, and ahead of its real-world debut in June, the 2017 Ford Focus RS. The cars are available separately or bundled together for $7. Note that the pack is not part of the Car Pass.

Forza Motorsport will be making its PC debut on May 5 when the open beta kicks off for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex. The Windows 10 racer will support DirectX 12 and is said to run on a variety of machines. The beta is being utilized to improve performance across a range of systems with various specs. Future updates will add wheel support, optional V-Sync, and an in-app frame counter. System requirements and recommendations can be found below, under the latest set of screenshots.

Codes being sent for Forza 6’s Fallout-inspired Chryslus Rocket ’69

Microsoft has sent word that codes for Forza 6’s Fallout-themed Chryslus Rocket ’69 have been sent out via Live. Players who have spent time with either Fallout 4 or Forza Motorsport 6 while connected to their Xbox Live profile will receive a code. They note that codes might take up to seven days to arrive due to several million being sent out. Also, those who buy either title by the end of the month will receive a code as well, and those will be sent out in early May.

The final pack in the Car Pass includes the 1934 Alfa Romeo P3, 1968 Opel GT, 1988 Jaguar #60 Castrol Jaguar Racing XJR-9, 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB, 1967 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL, 1969 Fiat Dino 2.4 Coupe, and—deep breath—the 2015 Chevrolet #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette Daytona Prototype.
