Final Fantasy VII download-only PC re-release now available
Square Enix is continuing their celebrations of Final Fantasy’s 25th Anniversary today with a nod to the 32-bit era via the ever-popular Final Fantasy VII. Starting today, role-players can download a new enhanced re-release for PC at Square Enix’s eStore for $11.99. Gamers who have a member account at the company’s site can download the game for $9.99 until September 12. The new version includes support for cloud saves and a character booster, and an in-game achievement system is also planned.

Final Fantasy III joins OUYA launch line-up
The Android-based OUYA console, the recent Kickstarter campaign flavor of the month, has gained some notable support today from none other than Square Enix. The studio has announced their plans to release Final Fantasy III when the console launches, which is currently scheduled for next March. More precisely, the OUYA version will be the 2006 enhanced re-release of the 1990 original, but optimized for the new system. A playable demo is also planned.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 getting final four DLC packs tomorrow
The final DLC packs for Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be dropping tomorrow on Live and PSN. The breakdown consists of two episode packs and three wardrobe packs. The episodes center around Snow and Lightning with Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield and Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess. Snow’s story will pit players against him in a Coliseum battle, with him joining the victor, and Lightning’s portion will see her battling Caius with all-new powers. The wardrobe releases consist of a White Mage outfit, Black Mage outfit, and a 16-piece collection for Mog.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy pre-order extra announced
Square Enix has announced a new pre-order bonus for their upcoming 3DS rhythmic RPG, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Befitting a game that features rhythm-based combat by way of tapping the stylus on the screen, gamers who put down some cash early enough will receive a gripped stylus and 17 stickers featuring some of the franchise’s most popular characters, including Cloud, Moogle, and Cecil.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 to get N7 armor, new Coliseum Battle DLC
Role-playing game giants will meet next week when Commander Shepard’s N7 armor makes its way into Final Fantasy XIII-2 as DLC. Serah Farron and Noel Kreiss will both be able to don the N7 gear. In addition to the new panoply, some new opponents, including Ultros, will be stepping into the arena in new Coliseum Battle DLC.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 gets weapon DLC, plus new Battle, Episode DLC
The second Coliseum DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2 has been announced, and this time players will be able to square off against PSICOM Officer Jihl Nabaat. The 240 MS Point/$2.99 download is scheduled to launch on March 13. A new Episode DLC was also announced, Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess. Requiem of the Goddess covers the battle between Lightning and Caius that was not shown in the game, and is scheduled to launch around mid-May.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions brings the battle to iPad
To war! Square Enix’s turn-based strategy title Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions has launched on the App Store for the iPad. The PlayStation Portable re-release of the PlayStation 1997 original includes new cutscenes, scenarios, and jobs. The iPad version available for $17.99.
