E3 2012 – Capcom: DmC, Lost Planet 3, Resident Evil 6, SF X Tekken
Capcom’s major announcements—Resident Evil 6, Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set—were all made well before E3. However, they still had plenty to show with new shots of DmC Devil May Cry, Lost Planet 3, Resident Evil 6, and Street Fighter X Tekken for Vita.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown set to hit Live, PSN in June
Virtua Fighter will be reentering the arena soon with Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. Sega sent word today that the download-only brawler will be available on June 5 on PSN and on June 6 on Live Arcade. The 1200 MS Point/$14.99 release will be the latest version of the 2007 fighter, including subsequent tweaks to the engine plus Training Mode, Replay Mode, eight-player Online Room Match Mode, and two additional characters: Jean Kujo and Virtua Fighter 3′s Taka-Arashi.

Street Fighter X Tekken enters new arena, now available for PC
PC gamers can commence with the face busting with Capcom’s latest fighter, Street Fighter X Tekken. The Capcom end of their crossover with Namco Bandai is available for $49.99 in stores and on digital outlets. The 38-fighter brawler features a modified Street Fighter IV engine and some of the franchises’ biggest names, including Ryu, Akuma, Paul, and Law. The PC version includes all of the console version’s modes and features, as well as additional graphic options and support for 3D vision.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is now showboating on the App Store. Available for iPhone and iPod touch, Capcom’s over-the-top tag brawler includes all 56 characters, the variable tag system, and the Flick Button, a new control mechanism for pulling off advanced moves with a swipe.

Street Fighter X Tekken pummels its way onto store shelves
The first of two crossover fighters from Capcom and Namco Bandai is ready to deliver some fist-to-the-gut action with the release of Street Fighter X Tekken for the 360 and PS3. The brawler features 38 characters from both franchises, and is based on a refined and expanded version of the Street Fighter IV fighting engine. A new Gem system has been introduced, allowing players to customize their fighters, as well as the on and offline four-player free-for-all Scramble Mode. Capcom also noted that all future upgrades will be available via DLC and that this “will be the only disc-based version consumers will need to own.”

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 bashes its way onto PS Vita
The Vita is getting in on the brawling action early with the launch of Capcom’s Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The updated re-release includes the new on- and offline Heroes & Heralds mode, available today as a downloadable update; eight new stages; a tweaked fighting system; 12 new fighters (six for each side); and a six-player Spectator Mode. The Vita version also includes touch screen controls, a Near-only Gold Herald color option, and the ability to fight and share replays anywhere via wi-fi. Also, any DLC purchased for the PlayStation 3 version can be shared with the handheld version.

Street Fighter X Tekken – final four, PC release date announced
Street Fighter X Tekken’s console release is quickly approaching, and with but a few weeks to go until 360 and PS3 gamers bash it out, Capcom has finally revealed the final four fighters as well as the PC release date. The Street Fighter roster is now two bosses stronger with the addition of Akuma and M. Bison, while Jin and Ogre join the Tekken side. With these last four, the game’s total combatant count clocks in at 38.

Soulcalibur V ends its long journey, now on store shelves
Namco Bandai is looking to reignite gamers’ souls today with the release of Soulcalibur V for the 360 and PS3. Set 17 years after the events in SCIV, the latest follows Patroklos and Pyrrha Alexandra as they uncover their family’s history with the Soul swords. In addition to a guest appearance by Ezio Auditore de Firenze from Assassin’s Creed, SCV includes new gameplay features and a beefed-up character creation mode, with custom characters displayable in the new Global Colosseo online hub.
